Had a 20 minute conversation with him back around 2000 in a mall in Dallas. Forgot which one, there’s like 7. (Rangers were in Boston, he was hurt). I saw him and just said “what’s up ruben”. I played HS ball for 6A team in DFW and we had this mega rich kid(dad was an ambulance chaser) that hired Bump Wills as his personal hitting coach. Lol

He came to all our games and would coach him outside the dugout. Still was never good enough to play in college. Went from average to above average
