Should tipped ball interceptions be counted as interceptions?

We’ve all seen beautiful passes to receivers bounce off their chest or hands and get intercepted by nearby defenders. Then the QB gets criticized for throwing a pick. Doesn’t seem right.

throwing a high ball that the receiver barely gets a hand on and then tips the ball is all on the QB. So yes

Yes.
People talk about dropped balls to defend quarterbacks but don’t talk about the shitty throws that receivers catch.
Same with picks.

yes and no, there should be a team int, where the wr was 100% to blame. if qb fires it and its over guys head, behind him, ball gets tipped, then it's a int for qb.
wr is thrown a perfect ball, hits his shoulder pad, and gets intercepted, team int.
some of the int's are 100% on wr, so since he cant take them, you give it to the team.
ones where the balls fired and deflects, then yes, qb is given the int.

Yes but I would Be in favor of crediting them to receiver instead of the QB.

Sorry you lost your fantasy game by a point

Same as a blocked FG goes against the kicker…it could be a beautiful ball (or it could be a shank).

There should be a notation of how many INTs were absolutely not the QB's fault. It could be officially scored similar to an error in baseball. A statline could read something like: 26/32, 3 TD, 2 INT (1 WR error)

QB throws a screen pass behind the LOS and the RB goes 68 yards for the TD, breaking numerous tackles on the way.
QB gets credit for 68 yard TD pass.
The QB always gets too much of the glory and too much of the blame.

This sounds like you're describing Tom Brady's career. How many smurfs did he dink and dunk to on 3 yard slants?

Yes but a separate stat could be kept like earned/unearned runs in baseball.

Places like PFF grade WBs on these very metrics and this board hates them
