I really don't care either way, but both leagues should be the same. MLB should give fans better options. People wonder why attendance in baseball is down, well that's because its the same teams over and over and over again. Give the fans more choice. As an Indians fan, I cant stand seeing the Tribe play the Twins and White Sox every other series. MLB should make each league the same and play EVERYBODY in baseball. I'd love to see the Indians play the Cubs or Dodgers or Giants or Cardinals or the Mets. Seeing the same team sucks! Having two different leagues sucks....especially if the NL has home field advantage in the playoffs. Its a natural built in advantage. Make it one way or the other!

They played the Mets this year.

I do agree that the schedule could be even more balanced out, with one at minimum series against everyone else, and a few less intradivisional series.

The Astros have 19 games against each of the Rangers/Angels/A's/Mariners.

Could easily make that 12 or 13 and add the teams they missed to the schedule.

MLB should note that the NFL has destroyed the product on the field with rule changes and fixed replays.

Don't change America's game.

PS. Get rid of the K zone square on tv.

I think it's just as big of an advantage in the AL parks when the DH is in play. AL teams actually employ a real DH, while most NL teams have to plug in a utility guy (with a few exceptions) to fill the role. It's better than having the pitcher hit, but it doesn't make up for the difference there would be if the AL DH was forced to the bench in favor of their pitcher.

I think the NL farm teams should also have their pitchers hit, then it would be a better product hopefully at the major league level

NL pitchers bat in AA and AAA.

Hmmm, it appears they do. I guess they just use interleague/home team rules then? Minor leagues are all mixed up between AL & NL farm clubs.

It's a basic tenant of the game. It's 9 vs 9. If you hit, you play the field. If you play the field, you hit.

I know it will never happen but these are the top 2 options IMO:
1. Abolish the DH
2. If the AL is keeping the DH, get rid of interleague play.

No. NL affiliates only have the pitcher bat vs. other NL affiliates. If it's "interleague" they use a DH.

randomize it.

throw dice at the beginning of the first inning. if the ump gets a higher number than the home team manager, pitchers have to bat. otherwise the home team manager makes the call.

I think they should continue to do it their own ways, but NL teams could really stand to have their pitchers bat more coming up through the minors.

Most of those pitchers probably haven't hit regularly since high school.

I was at a Shuckers game last month where the pitchers batted. Could be because the Brewers are in the NL.

I agree with Joe Torre. He was a winning manager in both leagues. He much prefers scrapping the DH. Not having a DH forces a manager to think ahead and adjust strategies mid game. Knowledgeable fans are also thinking along with the manager and second guessing his decisions. It doesn't happen in the AL.

I honestly don't mind that the AL uses it and the NL doesn't... my gripe is that all of the minor leagues, college baseball, and even HS uses the DH, s
this is basically my main reason for wanting the NL to just go ahead and adopt the DH

every other league and level of baseball has a DH, it seems like a pointless tradition at this point to not have it in the NL

It's also always seemed weird that you have 30 teams chasing the same title yet half of them play under a different set of rules
