I think the HUGE drop in ratings will do it for them

The players can get hurt any given day. Saints lost so you hate TNF

Needs to go back to college football.

Even Collingsworth commented on it during the game.

So you think they are only going to have TNF games 6 or 7 times during the season, all of which would be between weeks 5 and 11?
They really want to extend the season anyway, so they could always add 1 week and then add another bye for every team.

Yes, not good for the players.

go back to 2 byes
give teams byes before TNF
weeks 1,2,17, and 18 are the only ones without byes. You can have aweek 1 TNF no problem so you have 15 TNF games.
problem solved plus the league gets another week of inventory to sell.

Next time the Falcons lose on a Thursday night, I'll be sure to place my vote for eliminating them.

That makes a lot of sense. When were there 2 byes during the season?

TNF on weeks 1 and 6-12 only after bye weeks.
No TNF and London trips in the same season.
You can start as early as week 5 and have two teams have a bye week 4 and have them play each other. Have the teams coming off of a bye all the way to thanksgiving. I know this gives Dallas and Detroit a small advantage by always having a bye late in the season. The last Thursday night game should be the week after thanksgiving between two teams that played on thanksgiving, like what the Cowboys and the Redskins did last week.

Beginning of the season, NFL ratings are down and the entire country doesn’t like football anymore when the saints were looking like garbage. Saints lose a Thursday night game, and now we have to get rid of Thursday night games. Seems like we should just all play only on sundays in New Orleans at this point

1991-1993 IIRC

i wouldn't mind if they start from thanksgiving until the rest of the year

Thursday games are terrible for the players. Hard to believe the NFL preaches player safety and then turns around and makes them play a game a few days later.

Going to 2 bye weeks make sense. 18 week schedule for TV would make all the networks happy.

Absolutely yes

Yeah I think they should.
it seems like sometimes the Thursday games have better matchups than the Monday Night games.
last night's game was actually a good game that went down to the wire but had a ton of penalties also. I'm tired of that horseshite.. the penalties.
injuries will happen regardless. There are plenty of key players around the league on the shelf for the rest of the year that didn't get hurt on a Thursday game. Also, injuries have cheapened the product of the NFL even more this year in my opinion. Just one of many reasons why it isn't as enjoyable as a whole this year.
