Yes.These games short change season ticket holders.Freakin ridiculous.

I honostly thought we'd get some amazing interconference matchups when the 12th game was added in the early 90's but most schools have used it has a rent a win and a way too add more revenue by making them exclusively home games.

Hell,UGA played a grand total of TWO FCS teams the DECADE of the 90's and played a bunch of P5's OOC's.Home schedules were better back then with 11 games.

It's getting worse with G5 schools as well.Coastel Carolina?WTF? THE ONLY reason schools like this make the jump to FBS is to get a payday from a P5.

It's not the job of P5 schools to subsidize FCS and start up G5 schools.A complete joke.

USC, UCLA and Notre Dame...

The only 3 FBS schools that have never played an FCS school.

So obviously, the remaining 117 FBS schools want to continue playing FCS schools.

No, it’s good for college football overall, which goes way beyond the P-5 schools

No. As I’ve said before. The better FCS teams are just as good as any G5 teams. Only difference is one plays fir a national title, one plays for a bowl

For those questioning why play an FCS when you can schedule a Sun Belt/MAC team. Do you really think ULL is better than North Dakota State?

Give good exposure to smaller schools and provides a more relaxed game atmosphere to bigger schools.

No reason and no issue should come from playing 1 FCS. Also allows both schools to make more money (large crowd for FCS, extra home game for P5)

I've thought for a long time that Akron and (especially) Kent State should drop down. There are others too. San Jose State has no business being in the FCS. Neither does New Mexico State.

The overwhelming majority of MAC, Sunbelt, and CUSA programs should be demoted. The AAC and Mountain West can mostly stay.

You reorganize into 8 12 team conferences which each play 8 conference games, 3 rotating OOC games, and up to 1 permanent OOC rival.

The playoff would then be, essentially, 16 teams as the winners of each division would play in a conference title game. Each conference champ would be seeded 1-8 in the playoffs based on polls. The next round is at the home stadium of the higher seeded team. All other teams that didn’t make the final four are entitled to play in a bowl game.

I would either do that or go every another step further and take it all the way down to just 6 12 team conferences so there could be two at large bids.

It's not good for the P5 season ticket holder and they're paying a fair share of the freight for these schools.

Once again,it's not the job of P5 schools to subsidize G5 and FCS schools or to be part of some "greater good" for CFB.

Now we have P5 schools that have created a payday for schools who no business being in the FBS.They just have their hands out in hopes of a payday.

Agreed. I hate games against fcs opponents. They feel like boring filler. Half the time, I leave the game wishing I’d just stayed home and avoided the hassle of getting to and from the game,

Well, UF has been a bunch of pansies the past decade so makes sense.

I know FSU hasn't been all that great in the last couple of years but they were a playoff team 2x and won a natty in this decade. What did your non-SEC, in-state rival do this decade?

your perception is skewed bc LSU always whoops their FCS opponent.

teams worse than LSU have exciting games with FCS (not that they want to of course)

The fans have a choice. They aren’t being forced. They do pay a lot, and many don’t attend every game. They sell tickets and recoup something.

That said, not all FCS schools are equal, just like the FBS. It’s been pointed out that the FCS powers would probably cruise against your average Sun Belt or MAC school.

It’s not the job of the P5 to subsidize the FCS, but what about the G5 schools? Should we break into 3 different levels of D1?

Fans may not like it, but they’ll still pay. It’s pretty damn important for schools in the SEC and some other rugged conferences to have a game like this to get healthy. If it is against FCS, big deal. It’s an opportunity for freshman or walk-one to get their shining moment too.

Hilarious. They donate thousands every year just to make sure they maintain their tickets. You hardly recoup that value even if
you can get CLOSE to face value for a shitty FCS or G5 team.

Okay? Don't really GAS and it the amount of FBS schools that have proliferated because of these cupcake games is ridiculous. Its the only reason they exist in many cases.

about the G5 schools?

Most of them are just as bad but others such as Memphis State,Tulane and Houston I don't have a problem with.

Says who and most games are at the beginning of the year anyway. UGA played 2 FCS teams in 10 years during the 80's and didn't make the team any healthier.

Attendance is starting to slip and hopefully we'll do what Nick Saban wants and that's more P5 and conference games. Its what was supposed to happen anyway when the 12th game was added.

No question about it.

There are plenty of tune-up games to be had in FBS.

Five whole conferences of them for starters.
