As a Magic fan, KCP and Anthony are garbage trade fodder.
Magic picks have sucked and the opportunity cost isn't that much considering we have the worst scouting in the league.
I think we overpaid because we weren't confident in attracting free agents.
I hate it but I understand it.

KCP also had an awful deal for what he brought to the table. Some of this was unloading his salary.

It’s a perfect fit imo the magic have a chance to move way up in a weak east.
Their starting 5 is instantly one of the best and probably still getting better as Paolo and Franz continue to improve.

Yea I’m taking Bane over 4 more Anthony Black and Jett Howard type picks.

KCP was making $22MM the next two seasons.
That's just dead cap space.
I feel like this is a major win for the team because out drafts have been terrible. I'm very bullish on Anthony Black though. I think he is a good backup guard.
Suggs I'm not very high on but people seem to love him. Don't think he is a natural PG or SG. He just a ballplayer.
I get their thought process. There may be 10 players in the draft on good years that last longer than 3 years in the league. They think they're a 25+ spot team with this trade. You make the deal if thats the case. That's pretty much 2nd round in the NBA.

I've been with this team since 91. Is what it is. They been terrible forever. I don't even know how to stop following them.

This is a good trade for both sides imo. Orlando gets a knockdown shooter than can create a little bit while still maintaining their grit. Bane is a gamer that brings it every night.
Memphis is doing a soft reset. We’ll see this summer just how far they go. Ja’s injury history is starting to add up then you factor in his immaturity, I wonder if the right offer comes along that they take it.

I have been with this team since 89 and the girl i was dating in HS - Her older sister was part of the team that wrote and produced "The Song" with a 102 JAMZ DJ - In other words, I went to a LOT of Magic games in my lifetime
Now that I look back at the trade... When you look at it, the draft picks don't mean shite. We basically got Bane for a 16th pick and the other picks actually did us a huge favor by allowing us to unload a declining Cole Anthony (who just signed his extension last season so we were stuck with his and KCP was just average. The other picks will be 20+ picks in the draft (Basically 2nd round picks)
The PHX swap might be on the losing end but I think it is worth the gamble.
Since Cole Anthony was moved to the bench, his attitude has sucked. He did not like that role on the team and made sure everybody in the locater room knew it every single day - in other words, he was a huge cancer in the locker room
Yes, this move is a huge gamble but let's be honest here, if we were to have stayed the course, we would be a first round exit again. The Magic Management feel that we have the core players needed to WIN NOW. They FINALLY want to WIN NOW
