Salivating is supposedly a good sign as well. A lot of people think it's foaming at the mouth, but is saliva. Aspy... You agree?

ETA: a buddy of mine always picks the one that drop a load in the paddock.

That's a sign they are accepting the bit in what I do, but most on the track have their tongues tied, so I'm not sure

Also to keep them from getting their tongue over the bit. There is no feeling like the oh shite feeling you get when your horse gets his tongue over the bit and you lose both brakes and power steering

couple tidbits from HRN:

Some say I’ll Have Another’s times aren’t up to snuff, but how do his 2:01 4/5 in the Derby and 1:55 4/5 in the Preakness stack up against those who’ve swept the crown?

Quite well actually; only Secretariat, Affirmed, and Whirlaway were able to run faster at Churchill Downs, while in the Preakness, only Secretariat, Seattle Slew, and Affirmed were able to run a faster *1 3/16 miles.

Taking the time factor one step further, I’ll Have Another ran 1:47 4/5 in winning the Santa Anita Derby, his last race before the Run for the Roses. Have any of the Triple Crown winners run faster in their last prep before the Derby?

No. The closest was Affirmed who ran 1:48 1/5 while winning the Hollywood Derby.
*both were run at 1 1/8m

Even if he doesn't do it, the weeks leading up to a triple crown chance are so much fun!

Lava Man? Never did respect that horse out side of California. There he was money, anywhere else he was a claimer.

Any of you guys been following the bs going on in the last few months in ny?

Enough to give me a headache. Now the stewards just decided Iha can't wear his breath right strip.

Boy's old boss used them and the didn't seen to really help, but you don't wanna make any changes off a win. It's no different than blinkers/bit changes, and every horse has the opportunity to wear them.

They say it's unfair in case it "comes off in the rain", but as one commentor posted, what if a jock drops his whip?

I don't think it affects the horse, but it's still a little silly. So much crap has been going on up there.

Oneill should casually mention he may want to wait for the Haskell and watch them scramble. :lol;
