Limiting the ban to middle distance events makes zero sense. Like there aren't advantages to more testosterone in the 100m or 10K?

well that russian admitted to using steroids in 2014 and was later given a lifetime ban and had the gold medal taken away. so the answer to your question is, plenty.
as for the thread, this needed to happen and its not just semenya that will be impacted. the same 3 "women" have dominated the womens 800 for the last few years.
but the iaaf limiting this to only the 400-mile makes no sense whatsoever and is only bringing on scrutiny that they are targeting a specific person with the rule. it should be across all events. do they really think a female shot putter with elevated testosterone levels wouldnt have a significant competitive advantage in the event?
