She looks feminine at times.

Other times she looks like a man.

I don't think she looks ever feminine.

She looks like a DB for Alabama.

She’s started a conversation. Worth more than any medal.

Yeah, I'm not seeing any of these "times". He/she/it/they (sorry, don't know what personal pronouns Castor uses) looks like a cross dresser at his/her/its/their most feminine

I kind of feel for this person bc she isn’t trying to beat the system so to speak. At her birth, her parents/doctors essentially chose her gender (my understanding it was just easier to essentially make her a female).

I agree. On the one hand, there is no malicious intent on her part. On the other hand, it is unfair for the women competing in the 800 meters.

She wouldn't be ineligible for Tokyo. However, she would have to take medication that would limit her testosterone levels. This isn't too far off from previous rules that were in place about 5 years ago. If I remember correctly, it added about 3-4 seconds to her times, which made her a top 10 runner instead of the clear champion.

I do think that if this ruling is successfully appealed, it is because it is so obviously applied only to middle distance running. The reason why is because the top 3 800 meter runners are intersex. In no other sport is an intersex athlete considered a serious threat to win anything.

She was basically a male...but didn't have male parts.

Except internally. And those have never been removed which is a clear advantage because it provides male testosterone...which makes people stronger and better athletes. It's why the East German women lived off of it and started growing facial hair.

There's a great doc on what Testosterone does to women in sports (I forget the name) but it's basically about the East German and Chinese doping programs and the lawsuits in later years.

But to compete with this person, women have to dope...because she has naturally which is not allowed medically.

Maybe weightlifting. Laurel Hubbard isn't intersex, but is a man competing against women and winning.

Requiring intersex athletes to lower their testosterone for 6 months prior to competing against women is a start. But it ignores the fact that they developed through puberty with testosterone and developed muscles and strength that none of the female competitors have.

Is it any more unfair than Usain Bolt or Michael Phelps being born with a favorable body structure?

Yes. Unquestionably. Their bodies are still the same structurally as their competitors. Semenya's is not.
