Someone might want to wake up the Bruins and let them know they have a game tonight.

At this rate, he may get 2 more in the 3rd.

Just drafted a fantasy hockey team... haven't paid attention to the NHL since the 95-98 Sega games. My first picks were Patrick Kane, Tyler Seguin, and Victor Hedman. These guys any good? Anything special I should know about them?
I've been looking for a reason to follow the NHL. I think it's a cool sport with a lot of passionate fans.

Thomas and Kyrou both made the Blues roster. Kyrou was even elevated to the 2nd line with Schenn and Schwartz.

the hook in hockey bets are the worst of any sport, the $$$ looks like a great play, but it's not a good bet. I tried it years ago, and the reward was not worth giving that hook.
You cannot win, or even push once it goes to OT, so you might as well play the 3 way line.

And so it begins. The Pittsburgh Penguins quest to win their fourth Stanley Cup since 2009, third in four years and achieve dynastic status begins Thursday against their most immediate obstacle, the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals. The 2018-19 Penguins are the best team in the Eastern Conference and the most battle-tested in the NHL.
Derick Brassard, the most talented third-line center in the NHL, and 30-point fourth-liner Matt Cullen who provide the Penguins with nearly unparalled depth. For this Penguins team, it is Stanley Cup or bust.
The Penguins organization moved swiftly and effectively this offseason. The Penguins added the locker-room leader Cullen and retained Riley Sheahan while creating a third line which includes speedy, gritty wingers Bryan Rust and Dominik Simon beside Brassard. The Penguins were perilously thin a season ago. Now, they boast one of the most skilled and dangerous bottom-six forward crews in the league.
Rested and ready. Angry and aggressive. The Penguins are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. It’s the Penguins Cup to win or lose, though maybe an old Flower will weed them out.
Lets get it.

Damn. That was fun. Raising the banner meant a lot to me as a fan, and I'm not ashamed to say I got choked up. Then we went out and smashed the hell out of the Bruins, who had to resort to sending Marchand out to punch Lars Eller in the face for being happy (Eller has literally never been in a fight in his NHL career... Marchand is such a punk and a coward, no one he pulls that shite on Devante Smith-Pelly).
To go back to the earlier conversation about the Blues: sure, I like the Blues. I've even encouraged new fans to cheer for them if you're just getting into hockey as one of the Southern teams. But I'm also realistic about their chances this year. They are moving backwards as a franchise and may have missed their best window.
As for the Sharks, they just acquired this Karlsson guy who is pretty good. Thornton is near the end of his career. They are pretty close to in all-in year and a last chance in this window. But also, the Sharks and the Caps have always shared an affinity as the mirror images of each other in separate conferences. They have a pretty painful history of near misses like the Caps, and they've also seen their most hated rivals win Cups recently. If the Blues make the Finals, I'd root for them so long as they aren't playing the Caps. But I think the Sharks have a better chance.
