I’m not a fan of this trade for the Ravens. They need a lot more of on defense than Maxx Crosby. Those picks that they gave up could be high picks as well
This years is 14
Maxx is very good but
30m per year plus 14 plus another 1st….
Obviously they got better but is this the best outcome of those resources?

2 1st rounders for a DE that’s nearly 30 and not a top 5 DE is kinda dumb.
Plus 7 surgeries in 9 years.

But the Raiders probably won't do shite for a few years. Hell, they haven't done shite in years and now they letting their best player go.
the part about being not being a Top 5 DE is just stupid as frick though.
This makes all the sense in the world for Baltimore because teams nowadays just get that one Super Bowl. Better that than nothing.
And make no mistake, the Raiders aren't going to do a god damn thing.

Weird melt. Crosby only had 9.5 sacks last year and graded out as the #16 EDGE. He plays every single snap and it's clearly starting to catch up to him with injuries and surgeries last 2 years.
Ravens window is closing so it makes sense to go for it while you can.
Raiders are in a full rebuild and in as good a position as possible to do it. Now NFL leading $129M in cap space, #1 #14 #35 picks in this draft plus two firsts next year. Franchise QB, RB and TE set on offense. Top coaching hire this cycle.
It will of course all come down to just how well Mendoza does as with any top pick QB. Now I'm curious if they go OL at #14 or best available WR to pair with Mendoza. Or of course defense where they need basically every position but especially secondary.

In recent memory how many non QB trades involving significant draft capital (2+ 1st round picks) actually worked out for the team acquiring the player?
Butt Chin trading two 1st rd picks for Laremy Tunsil set the Texans franchise back a couple of years at a minimum. Packers fandom was practically guaranteeing a Super Bowl after they traded for Micah Parsons.
Massive contracts and giving up this much draft capital for an EDGE rusher should be a "resume" move. GMs get into a mode where they believe that they are "one piece" away from a deep playoff run and focus on that singular player rather than build out quality depth for their team.

That’s a damn good haul for Maxx Crosby

is he even top 10 honestly?
PFF had him rated 14th edge.
Chase Young rated 19th.

Rams trading for Ramsey

This. Let’s not act like the Raiders are good at drafting.
Also, laugh at the Cowboys offer but they have pick #12. Apparently Ravens have pick #14 due to a trade.
But a top 12-15 pick is a hell of a lot better than than picks 25-30

Ravens have never traded a first in their history. Whether it was an overpay or not, seems like that fanbase is happy to see that org finally take a swing.

Lamar's deal has to be reworked, no way the Ravens can take a 74.5 million cap hit with the current roster

Raiders finally make a good decision on the business personnel side of football. Absolutely the right thing to do. Ultimately will be measured with what they do with the picks and how well those picks/players contribute to W’s on the field.

It makes me wonder how much Tom Brady was involved in this. Raiders on the upswing, imo.

The Raiders ought to be arrested and charged with Grand Theft Draft Pick.
