Why couldn't he get the ball to the ref?

The refs set the ball every play. The teams can't do it. They skipped a step.

Yes I know that. The one that did it was not convenient from a distance or positional standpoint. They need one at the sideline running between the lines once the play stops, not one running from upfield and through one of the teams’ players.

Dumbest part of that is even if it worked, it limits you to one pass to the end zone. The Cowboys shortened the game on themselves for no reason.

What's funny is that all the idiot Cowboys fans were crying in the stands with like 4 minutes left in the game. It's like bruh it's just a football game. You can be mad or disappointed but to cry.

With all 3 timeouts. The stupidity was more offensive than the crying.

It was a dumb play.

Running for the 1st, I can understand. But instead of running OOB he stayed in the middle of the field and we were left with that whole debacle.

IS IT THE COWBOYS' FAULT THAT THE UMPIRE WASN'T CAPABLE OF KEEPING UP WITH THE PLAY? HE SHOULD'VE BEEN FOLLOWING DAK ON A DEAD SPRINT. IF HE HAD, HE WOULD'VE HAD TIME TO SET THE BALL BEFORE DAK'S SPIKE. INSTEAD, WE GOT SCREWED.

Right but this is the way it works and they should be practicing this. They know it takes time off the clock each play.

The Cowboys lost that game well before the dumb frickery on that final play. You can’t commit 14 penalties and allow 170 rushing yards at home and expect to win.

Although, we can 100% say that the QB draw was one of the worst possible things the Cowboys could have done in that situation

Cowboys thought 1 shot from the 26 was better than three shots from the 40

That’s is the play somehow freaking works which has a razor thin margin for error. It makes no sense

You want a ref who would need to go all the way to the sideline before being set for the play to spot the ball in these situations?

They wouldn't have even gotten the snap off in this case if that's what happened.

Let’s just say it was a stupid call and move on. It should have ended on the QB sneak, but they had to get cute.
