MOST pro-athletes completely check out once they get the guaranteed contract money. you see it more so in MLB and the NBA though.

It is, no doubt. But remember that time last year when the Saints beat Tampa 38-3? How did that ultimately work out for both of those teams?

I think you missed the point of his post.

Aaron Rodgers = your friend's family.

Your friend = Aaron Rodgers' family.

Aaron's family obviously doesn't approve of the person he has become, and he avoids them, rather than face the reminders of what a fraud they know he has become.

They’ll win that pathetic division and a wild card team will get screwed
Nfl needs to change playoff hosting rules

The poster said he didn’t even use back channels to check

I’m assuming he didn’t mean loudly announcing secretly checking

Or maybe his family has no right to tell another grown person how to lead his life. Ultimately if the over-bearing, judgmental voices predominate a conversation all you are left with is over-bearing judgmental voices. Some people, instead of fighting and defending the hill they stand on will remove themselves from the environment entirely.

Based on what I can tell about his family is they are way too publicly outspoken and don't understand Aaron (they probably never have). It's pretty obvious he is a more introverted person and values privacy. The fact that his brothers and father were willing to talk to rag journalists about their internal family matters tells me all I need to know about them and probably solidified what Aaron's notions were about his family. Sounds like he just removed himself from a toxic situation to me.

"Game of Thrones Extra.....and NFL MVP"

The fact that they put a nonsports fact before a sports one when describing a QB is odd.

So was Week 1 just Aaron showing how much power he wields with Green Bay?

Are we watching the same player? He’s a top 5 odds favorite for MVP and having a great year. His team is 7-1

What’s the issue?

This board has a weird hatred for Rodgers.

I’m almost certain it stems from jealousy of Rodgers being widely regarded as the second best qb of this era, rather than their beloved drew Brees.

Similar to the hatred for usc due to the 03 split title.

Check the date of the thread. It was made after Green Bay's disastrous week one loss to the Saints in which Rodgers played terribly.
