Big shoutout to the doctors, first responders, and all of the other medical care professionals who stabilized him and got him walking out within 36 hours.
I'm always in awe of what they do.

The wife posted a pic before the race from the beach with her ‘boyfriend’ apparently. Newman was @ the race with just his kids (I assume nanny, grandparents, etc...) I imagine it had to be terrifying for those girls to go through that and mom is sipping pina coladas with Jody ...

Ok. I did not know that... And then this happened.... Weird..... I'm glad he is doing this well. That crash was one of the worst I've ever seen in my 40 years of watching racing.

Saw that too, and I couldn't tell if that was a boyfriend since she posted that a month ago, but his tweets post crash makes it sound like he's been friends with both of them for some time.

I'm honestly and thoroughly confused at how 36 hours ago, he's involved in a crash so terrible, many people doubt he could survive, to less than 24 hours ago, the announcement is made that miraculously, he sustained no life-threatening injuries, though he remained in serious condition, to now, he's strutting out of the hospital like he just had a few stitches put in and needed an advil and some rest. 
What a rollercoaster for him and his family.
