but 1A, 2A, and 3A schools doing this is why our publics and privates don't play each other any more in the LHSAA playoffs.
we don't have the split because some schools form superteams
we have the split because other schools can't beat those superteams
we have the split because a hand full of 4a and 5a schools that couldn't beat ECA and JC in football decided to push them down to 1a and 2a respectively for nearly a decade (with 2 years in 3a only 1 in fb). That's why we have the split - the schools with the MOST resources sent them to the schools with the least resources to deal with them. in that 10 year span - no school other than JC or ECA won state in the class they were in.

How do you think Walker was pulling kids from all over.
Walker was 2-6 last year. Must not have worked too well for the Wildcats.
doing pretty good for them in basketball though

shite while we’re reminding people of stuff,
Rummel won the last unified 5A State a championship and therefor is the last legitimate LA State Champion.

shaw was busted because coaches were giving out tuition assistance directly, a coach at CHSBR doesnt have that kind of power unless things have changed dramatically
Being in B.R., Catholic doesn't have the competition that Shaw has with other Catholic schools recruiting the same kids.

Jamar chase and kristian fulton both live on the westbank but went to high school at rummel.
I just found out that kristian fulton's brother keith played on the football team at lsu. Must've been a walk-on.

So? Plenty of kids who don’t play football for Rummel also commute to school from across the River. Same is true for Jesuit and BM. People from the river parishes go to NO metro area Catholic schools too.

When I was in high school, I couldn't figure out why so many kids from Metairie and the West Bank went to Holy Cross. Then a friend from Holy Cross told me that there was a two-fold reason. First, Holy Cross started in the fifth grade and was considered a good middle school. Second, they had a great bus system that went all over the metro Orleans area -- including Metairie and the West Bank. And, once these kids were already there for middle school, they just stayed for high school. And, of course, this had NOTHING to do with athletes -- this was just the student body as a whole. At the time, they sort of needed to do that because of their Lowa 9 location.
I have no idea if that is still the case for Holy Cross. Do they even need it with their new more centralized (and safer) location in Gentilly?
However, given Rummels recent football success, it would be interesting to see the number of non-athlete Westbank students going to Rummel vis-a-vis that number of "recruitable" Westbank athletes that go to Rummel. I have a feeling that it's a little skewed to the athlete. Further, does Rummel even have a bus system that goes to the Westbank or are these kids left on their own to find transportation?

IIRC we were the first team that year to score first on them in a game that year (or some random statistic about being the first to something against them). Also the first time I remember high schools having national rankings. I think Ruston was the number 2 team in the nation that year.

Jesuit is nice enough to tell us WHERE their students come from I think it didn’t always used to be like that though... like if you were playing Rummel, you knew you were playing Metairie kids, or city kids for St Aug, or West Bank kids for Shaw.
Now they all get kids from all over

So Dunn is given the opportunity to go to Catholic, which he credits as being the biggest influence on his life. He then goes on to lead a life where he helps 1000s of inner city minorities change their life

No kids should be allowed the opportunity to go to a better school. Lets lock them inside their neighborhoods and force them to go to the public school
