It’s been said he wants to stay where he can get a direct flight to Japan. Dodgers or Mariners would be the favorites.

There is no way he plays for a city without a strong Japanese presence.

The only east coast team I could see him going to would be the Yankees.

Let's see, where would you rather live:

Atlanta or LA?

Atlanta or NY?

The fact that this is even a discussion is laughable.

When it comes to quality of life, not many places beat Atlanta(metro area) in that department.

You can laugh all you want, but there is a reason(s)California is hemorrhaging population and moving to Atlanta(Southeast in general) and it's not b/c taxes are low out there and the quality of life is good.

In 1990, the Atlanta Metro Area had around 2.5MIL people, now, it's pushing 7 MIL.

This is completely moot. Ohtani is not like us. He’s one of the most recognizable and famous athletes on the planet. He’s not gonna live the same kind of life in any city as the rest of us. He probably stays in a bubble most of the time. He’s not out enjoying the places we would frequent. He can’t. I’m not sure the city matters to him as long as there’s an airport with international flights to Japan.

Idk why this shocks anyone. He’s stated repeatedly he wants to win. The playoffs in baseball can largely be a crapshoot. Neither Ws team was in the top 4 of their league. He will leave a massive amount of generational wealth on the table though if he picks Atl cuz they ain’t giving him the dough LA or NY will. Can he even pitch anymore? I’m not saying I wouldn’t take him in a heartbeat but hitting and especially power hitting isn’t a concern for Atlanta

I just don't why this matters for someone like this. They spend so much time together and on the road and they could live anywhere they want in the offseason. Plus you are so rich I think you'd have a nice time wherever you were.

And the thing is, most of us don't.

Quit being obtuse
