No idea. Lot of teams who arent satisfied with their offense out there and cap room to burn

I can already see the headlines of Bell signing with the raiders for 4 years/55 mil bc Gruden wants to prove that players want to come to the raiders

Raiders better go all in on OL.

All we have been told is that Bell had to sign the tender this year or lose a year and not eligible for free agency but apparently that was all bullshite as he has accrued 4 years already?
Yah its been shotty reporting

he's getting some really bad financial advice
Not really. He is playing the risk game against getting injured. He is more financially secure having a contract with a higher guaranteed payout.

This is fascinating. Sounds like Le’Veon Bell and his agent did not realize until it was reported (by @TomPelissero) that Bell’s tag next year would be the QB tag for about $25M. This makes it less likely that he shows because it’s either transition tag or free agent.

Imagine what the NFLPA could get done if they had more men like him. NFL players would have guaranteed salaries by now.

Does him sitting out allow Pittsburgh to get compensation when he ultimately leaves in FA?

If they have to tag him at $25 million, that would be a 150% increase in the guarantee money he was offer by Pitt over the summer.
Steelers' 5 year offer to Le'Veon Bell last year averaged $13.3 million per year. 5 years at $66.5 million, and ten was guaranteed. Would have made just under $30 million in the first two years of the deal.

Would likely get a 3rd round comp pick depending on what they sign in FA

If they rescind the franchise tag, and allow him to become a free agent, they would get nothing.
If they transition tag him and don't match the offer they get nothing.
If they allow him to become a free agent at the end of the season, they would get a 3rd round pick.

Sounds good. Wasn't sure if him not signing throws in some weird clause or not.
