Hanging your hat on moral victories kinda does show how the change in ND culture. They would never be satisfied with just not being blown out when they were in their heyday

The word "choke" is completely meaningless if the #7 team losing on the road to #3 by less than a touchdown is considered a choke.

Yeah. I don’t get why LSU fans rail on ND. I mean, we just lost to them in 2 recent bowls when everyone figured we’d steamroll them. ND is a much better program under Kelly than the other recent guys. But they are in a tier below Bama, Clemson, etc just like a lot of other good teams.

Because minus Georgia, their schedule is extremely low energy.

Notre Dame covered tonight, therefore exceeding expectations by a significant amount.

They essentially won 31-23.

Alabama made the CFP committee look silly when they got sodomized but Clemson, right?

You SEC homers are fvckin retarted. Notre Dame is a fine program. They've been more consistent than anyone in the SEC not named Bama. They just happened to go up against beastly teams in Bama and Clemson the years they made the playoffs.

They played Clemson closer than Bama did last year. Every other team you think should've made it over them would've gotten killed too.

an 11-1 ND team will get in this year before a second SEC team. book it.

Seems like they just made that real hard this year. How do they get in over an 11-1 UGA who beat them? Do we really think they have the pull these days to get in over an 11-1 Bama? An 11-1 LSU would have a sick resume when compared to ND but they would be the most likely to get screwed by the national media trying to sway the committee’s thoughts.

How can they not “hang with the big dogs” when they just took Georgia to the wire?

I’d hardly say they are choking. They’re a very good team losing to a better team.

Who have they beat? They may snag a win against a shite big name here and there but they don't really win big games consistently.

Bc ND is 1-17 against top 5 teams since 2000 which is 2nd worst % in the country.
