So you expect them to become the worst MLB team ever?
1916 A's won 36
1935 Braves won 38
1962 Mets won 40

Look at their last good team.

The hauls they got for Aroldis, Cueto, jay Bruce, and Todd Frazier were atrocious.

They let Zack Cozart walk

They traded a young Didi Gregorius for Shin soo Choo, who they let walk in FA a year later

All of their deals have been empty one way or another since then

Throw in O's, Rays, and Royals in the mix also.

You forgot to add that they signed Bailey, Phillps and Mesoraco to combined contracts worth $200 million. Why they signed Bailey to that $105 million deal while letting Johnny Cueto go is something I'll never understand.

It's a combination of many things. As mentioned we traded away some of our veteran players as our window was closing and those deals have netted zero. Squat. Nothing. There is not a player in the organization left from the Chapman trade. Our orgazational development, especially from a pitching standpoint, is awful. We keep extending a manager who has led us to the worst start in team history since 1931, first time to finish last three times in a row since the 30's(that record will be set this year), and to our first last place finish since 1983( we had the longest stretch of not finishing last in MLB during that period) in 2015. The GM, Dick"nepotism" Williams, has as much business as being a GM as my Aunt Sally. The "rebuild" which started in 2015 was supposed to culminate in becoming competitive(competing for the playoffs) in 2019. My arse. With the current leadership in place this team won't compete for another 20 years. In a rebuild you let your young guys play, but inexplicitly our DA manager plays Cliff Pennington, Phil Gosselin, etc. You talk about a "goat roping" of a MLB club that would be the Reds. I predict a 52-110 season which would be by far the worst in team history, and there is no foreseeable hope in the near future.

This.

Fire Price. Fire Williams. Torch the place and watch it burn.

Me and you both. This happened when Cueto was having a small back issue. The club said Cueto was thus "injury prone" and signed Bailey who missed almost two straight years with an arm injury, but hey, he's thrown two no hitters! Hell, Mike Leake would have been a way better sign than Homer. Leake stays healthy and is always reliable. Bailey was another Reds first round bust whose best two seasons equal a #3 pitcher. Again, the Reds front office is a monkey riding a goat.

What’s the worst record for a non-expansion team in the modern era?

I know Detroit was godawful at one point in the 2000s and lost about 120 games.
