Love it when people trot this one out.

So, in 06 when the Saints returned to NO, the league got them all the way to the NFCCG, then, instead of having a Manning-Brees Super Bowl, the NFL rigged it for the Rex Grossman-led Bears to beat them in a 11-7 game?

And THEN, the NFL rigged it the next two years for the Saints to go 7-9 and 8-8.

And THEN they rigged it for the Saints to win 4 years later.

It’s a flawless plan.

Soooo, if the NFL is scripted, then the Bills should be a shoo-in for the championship right?

Your discussion point seems very contrived.

There is another trial balloon thread extolling how wonderful it would be for the Bills to win the Superbowl.

It's almost like the NFL is test marketing consumers on how to fashion their product.

The NFL is labeled sports entertainment just like the WWE as far as legal business filings are concerned. Take it for what it’s worth

People will say they let the bills win

People will forget the bills were the favorite before the season even started and also had control of the 1 seed as well

There was something I saw awhile back about there being a strong correlation to teams getting new stadiums, then making it to the conference championship games

I grew up in a suburb to Waco and was very familiar with the Tomlinson family and never had heard that surname anywhere else until I saw Laken’s name.

Also, a TCU fan saying it’s common is a bit biased lol. You had LT and his nephew or however Hodges-Tomlinson is related to him.

Yes, writers are working overtime. They HATE having the story handed to them so they have to figure out how to make it their own.

I’m sure the Rams’ salary situation and ability to add proven vets in their march to a Super Bowl title was all 100% legit.

IT’s scripted so they decided to make a franchise that was AT BEST the 3rd most popular pro sports team in their own city into a 2 decade dynasty, instead of say NY or the most popular and valuable franchise in Dallas

Brady really didn’t do anything in that super bowl. That was 95% the pats D shutting down the greatest show on turf.

Money matters, and with betting being legal in a lot of the country it’s always going to be in the back of peoples minds.

Also, I have a generic name with no team allegiance indicated.

Yes.

It still amazes me that it has to be explained to some people that a billion-dollar industry would do what it feels necessary to maximize profits.

And there is a one direction singer who is one of the most famous bands in the younger generations

And others on Wikipedia.

It’s an Anglo Norman name. Lots of them settled the southern states, and thus were probably plantation owners and gave the slaves their last names.

There are probably hundreds of thousands throughout America and Britain, maybe Canada too

The only AFCCG not on a neutral field would be Bengals at Bills. These stories aren't hard to write.

The big tell for me was how the LA Rams progressed.

The NFL had been seeking the South CA market for years. They had major issues tapping into what represented the largest domestic market with no nearby team.

Lo and behold, the Rams move to LA, get a new stadium, and win the Super Bowl in short order. This seemed contrived in a NASCAR way, where new a manufacturer enters racing and begins winning.
