If Bama is left out precedent has been firmly set that the SEC champ takes a back seat to ACC champ.

I prefer this precedent over a precedent that omits an undefeated power 5 conference champion.

Amazing the amount of upvotes you'd get if it were LSU in this situation that Bama is in.

I’ve never expected an undefeated P5 team would do anything but make the playoffs over one with one loss. I won’t expect that to change no matter who we are talking about.

Yeah, well said.

What’s the fricking point if you win all your games and get left out?

Each year should stand alone. Previous years should not factor into what happens or who gets in this year or any other year.

20 years of SEC dominance should certainly be referenced in evaluating the strength of schedule and how much value to put on a SEC Championship.

Especially when Alabama would likely absolutely boatrace the team they lost to in September if they played today

Probably but let’s not forget they needed an absolute miracle to beat a barely bowl eligible Auburn who got boat races by NM State.

And if they get credit for that, FSU should get credits for winning their rivalry game with a backup QB and a CCG with their 3rd QB

They clearly haven’t stopped to consider the implications of putting the ACC at the same relative level as SEC. If Bama is left out precedent has been firmly set that the SEC champ takes a back seat to ACC champ.

What the frick are you talking about. There is now a 12 team playoff and this means jack shite. Bama’s vaunted OKC included and SEC West that was 0-3 va the ACC and 0-2 va the Big 12. What’s your point again?

Based on what?

I can't stand Texas and would rather see Alabama in the playoff rather then Texas for no other reason than to see the Texas melt? I mean... that's gotta count for something, right?

Well that ACC champ is undefeated

What is the ACCs record vs the SEC this year?

Maybe this year they are the better conference.

Hell Bama struggled to beat South Florida

It won’t stop.

They will only double down, once the true melts start.

No, it sets a precedent that 13-0 > 12-1 which most of us already subscribe to.

And yet a 12-1 Alabama team was ranked ahead of a 13-0 Florida State team due to perceived weaknesses back in 2014.

So all conferences are the same now? No such thing as SEC superiority relative to ACC and PAC?
Got it!

This was a down year for the SEC. That should matter more that what happens in previous years.

The SEC had a losing record to the ACC this year.

I just want consistency from the committees. That’s really all I want.

They need to use the criteria they used to have Oregon over Alabama when y’all agreed with that.

What was that criteria?

What evidence is there that the SEC is better than the ACC THIS YEAR?

Certainly not head to head record in 2023

he idea of leaving out 12-1 SEC champion Bama because of a September loss to a one-loss team is preposterous.

Only if you refuse to acknowledge that there are 3 undefeated P5 champions ahead of them and the one-loss team that beat them in September.
