Orlando me the NBA finals and the Eastern conference championship with the guys you mentioned. That is hardly squandering talent.
I would say things like the Detroit Lions where you lose all the time with Hall of Fame players

Saints the last four years because Sean Payton is terrible at game management.

They managed to squander prime CP3
2 seed (almost a 1 seed) with a shite arse owner in George shin that was one game away from a wcf. Spurs got a lot of cheap calls and they were at worst the 3rd best team in the league that year. Then they got dumb by firing Byron Scott, misevaluating Tyson Chandlers foot injury and trading him. Then dwest tore his acl and Chris still took Emeka fricking Okafor to the playoffs and took a couple of games from the lakers.

Anthony Davis
They didn't squander a goddamn motherfricking thing with AD. They put Eric Gordon, tyreke Evans, Ryan Anderson, and Jrue holiday around him, and EVERY one of those players got significantly hurt while he was there. The fricking sixers lied about Jrues injury and got fined for it.
Then they traded for cousins and started fricking the league up and bam torn Achilles and cousins is never the same. AD then decided to puss out and demanded to go to l.a.

most likely waste Zion too.
50 fricking games in lol.

The Chicago Bears of the late sixties must be considered. They had offensive and defensive MVP’s in Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus. Indeed, Butkus and Sayers are arguably the best ever at their positions.

Cubs in the 60's. Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Billy Williams, Fergie Jenkins and a bunch of other great players. Not only did they never make the postseason but they finished near the bottom of the NL most years.

How can you drop the Mariners and not mention Felix?

This doesn't fully qualify but the Packers having Favre and Rodgers for almost 30 years and only winning 2 Super Bowls qualifies for something.

The Colts.
Manning should have gone to more than 2 super bowls.
They literally broke Andrew Luck.

For the last ten seasons (2011-2020) it's the Steelers, hands down. For about 6-7 years of that stretch (2013-2018), they had the best roster in the NFL by far, including a top 10 defense, a top 5 QB, the best WR in the league, the best RB in the league and a rock-solid offensive line. A down 2019 is excusable because of injuries.
The net result? 3 playoff wins in 10 years. They lost in the first round four times, missed the playoffs four times, lost a divisional round in 2015 and lost the AFC Championship in 2016.
They have easily done less with more than any NFL franchise and probably in all of sports in that stretch.

They also traded Baron Davis in his prime for Speedy Claxton and Dale Davis. No draft picks involved, just 2 shitty players

All of the Houston teams.

How many times has CFF:LoM killed them with bonehead turnovers? I think he threw two pick sixes against Jacksonville one year.
The Name Redacteds have to be on this list. They kept RG3 on the field with an ACL injury and ruined his career.

I searched for Angels and didn't see it.
The correct answer is the LA/Anaheim Angels. Mike Trout has won 2 MVPs and their team finished 4th in the division. They've had one of the highest payrolls in MLB with the best player for the better part of a decade and have 1 post season birth to show for it with 0 post-season wins.
They're wasting statistically one of the best players of all time.

But the St Louis Blues are actually much worse: over the course of the 90s they had:
Growing up in the 90's as a Blues fan was one of the most painful times possible.
And that doesn't even include the early 2000's teams that did the same shite and had Tkachuk, Turgeon, Demitra, Kariya, and more.
All those teams were more talented on paper than the team that won the Cup 2 years ago

Pronger, MacInnis...those Blues teams were incredible in the regular season.

I was an outfielder in the Angels organization and quit because I knew that they were always going to build their major league roster through free agency.
Go look at their roster in the early 80's
Fred Lynn
Reggie Jackson
Rod Carew
Doug DeCinces
Rick Burleson
Bobby Grich
Bob Boone
Don Baylor
Brian Downing
