TCU/UNC and Colorado/GT were as close to dogshit as you can get… combined for one touchdown in the second half.
On the whole, if this is the quality of play that’s to be expected of mid-tier P4 teams, then college football may already be dead.

TCU vs UNC and Colorado vs Georgia Tech wouldnt have been good game for the past 40 years, if ever.

LSU/Bama 2011 had 0 TDs in the entire game and went to overtime

TCU has been a solid program over the last 20 yrs or so… the other three not so much, but have had moments.
There are middling high school teams that are better organized than what we saw in those two games… the price of endless free agency I guess

Yeah, split national champs Colorado and Georgia Tech in 1990 would’ve sucked.

But Ohio St beating Texas 14-7 in week 1 last year as a B1G vs SEC matchup was cream of the crop though
Like goddamn man, do you like CFB or not? I thought that was an entertaining finish last night. 2 blocked kicks including one to seal the game, questionable playcalling by GT just trying to preserve the lead instead of being more aggressive to score a TD to make it a 2 score game and it bites them in the arse. Like that's a classic CFB experience between two mid teams and someone came out the victor.
What do you want out of a week 1 unranked vs unranked matchup?

Please no more SEC teams in the playoffs. I'm tired of seeing them slaughtered by the B1G.

The point is that NIL and the transfer debacle isn't what created these lackluster games. They would have been that way for years

It's week one and both games were played in completely shitty weather.

Am I the only one that didn't think GT/Colorado was a shitty game?
What is yall's ideal of a good game? Are yall college football fans? Neither team had a 2 score lead the entire game. There were controversial calls. There were self inflicted errors that ended promising drives. Special teams heroics, one that walked off the game. We sat around and questioned the playcalling of sitting on the lead just trying to bleed clock and make the opponent burn timeouts vs trying to make it a 2 score game.
All this from 2 teams in week 1 that are unranked and by the end of the season will probably be inconsequential in the national landscape but we sit here and watch anyway and comment on it and argue about what the win/loss means for the teams, what dumb shite happened in the game that wouldn't have happened if we were in charge, etc.
That is college football. That's the college football experience. Especially in a week 1 game between teams that most likely will not matter in the grand scheme of things once we're in November. Some of you expect every game to be some kind of super bowl or something with flawless execution or else it's trash
It was an entertaining game imo

The beauty of the portal and NIL is that we will have a lot more competitive games across the board. Yes, both GT and Colorado are going nowhere this season but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good college game. We’ll see the same type game 30 more times in week 1 as teams are finding out what they got.

I thought both games were interesting. The teams that were favored lost, right?

No, I thought it was entertaining. People don't like it if games don't go over 50+
Colorado looks like a fricking high school team physically though, but great win at the end

I had the same thought watching Georgia Tech trying to get a snap off before half time last night.

Colorado and GT was a fun game but sometimes I enjoy defensive games. Not every game has to be a shoot out to be a good game.
Also your team Auburn only scored 3 points on Kentucky last season. 10-3 game.

A performance so bad we fired the coach 8 hours later.
