Unfortunately he isnt going anywhere.

Nutting purchased his first shares in 2002.

He became majority owner in January of 2007 - or at least thats when news broke on the topic.

He made it clear he's going to leave the team for his daughters.

Bednar was one of the Pirates' best, if not THE best reliever, on the staff. The Pirates have lost as many games to a lack of hitting as the relievers have lost due to have blown saves.

Aside from a couple of years under Hurdle, it's been rinse and repeat the last 32 years.

I feel bad for cousins who are Pirates fans.

They don’t have anybody to trade for an MLB bat.

Mitch Keller. But Cherington will likely give him away.

The Pirates are a reminder of why you should never choose to be a fan of a team that’s token opposition for actual teams. It’s not worth the frustration.

I'm going to Pittsburgh next month for a meeting and as luck would have it, the Rockies happen to be in town then, As nice as a park it is, I don't think I'm willing to torture myself like that.

I’d at least go to PNC just to experience all the cool stuff. Manny Sanguillen’s BBQ shack on the concourse beyond the CF wall is the absolute tits. They also have a Primante Bros in the park if great sandwiches are your thing. And the view is spectacular. If you go on Friday nights, there’s fireworks on the Allegheny.

Good recs. I haven't been since the mid 2000s so I'm sure the food options have significantly changed. I hit up the original Primanti on that visit but haven't had anything to do with the area until now.

I've looked at the schedule and estimating that Skenes should be pitching the Sunday game that weekend. With my luck it probably ends up being Heaney instead.

I hope you are joking .... it's one of the nicest stadiums and views in MLB. And an easy walk from downtown. Weather should cool down nicely as well. Doesn't matter who they are playing, it's still a must visit.

I've been here for work for 5 months and the city is pretty great ... food not so much, but there are some decent higher end options. Primanti's is very average food, but not a bad place to catch a game and a drink. That is if you are here for a long period of time. Enjoy.

They would maybe get one average MLB hitter and an average prospect for Keller. Then what? They would still be terrible. The smart play is to trade Skenes, but they won’t.

According to a report from MLB insider Jon Heyman, New York has been fielding calls from teams interested in acquiring standout outfield prospect Spencer Jones, but they have rebuffed any attempt by declaring they'd only be willing to move Jones, along with other pieces, for Pirates ace Paul Skenes.

Heyman indicated that teams had been dangling good players in front of the Yankees in hopes of working out a deal for Jones, but the team has been consistent in that it won't trade him for anyone other than Skenes, who is not going to be traded by Pittsburgh.

It makes sense why the front office is so hellbent on keeping Jones. Since his promotion to Triple A, Jones has hit 13 home runs in just 21 games, and he has 29 home runs in 70 games in total this year. A former first-round pick, Jones has tremendous upside, and it seems the Yankees are determined to keep him in the organization at virtually any cost.

New York still has some other attractive prospects who could potentially fetch a big name at the trade deadline, including starting pitcher Cam Schlittler, but it appears Brian Cashman & Co. aren't even entertaining the idea of letting Jones go.

Not sure which part you're questioning, I'm talking about sitting through a game between the Pirates and Rockies

I liked the city when I visited, I expect to like it when I come back. No bad words to say about that, just the game schedule.

Something you do once to say you did it but not anything special.

If you're accustomed to po-boys, Primanti's looks like a gimmick.

That’s brutal man. They have a great history, a great stadium, and a great city. That place was rocking during the 2013 WC game against Cincinnati. I’ll never forget Cueto dropping the ball on the mound.

How do you think this works? Anybody that woulda traded for Keller was in a pennant race. Those teams aren’t giving up “MLB bats” right now. And Keller has a big contract…that negates any real return for middling starter
