a lot of schools like ULM probably can't afford to do so

The current president and AD are making progress in the $$ department, still a long ways to go though. So get out there and buy Duck Commander gear so Willie can give more.

Looks sweet. Have to have the facilities to compete in this day and age. Those helmets are atrocious though. Is Lafayette Adidas sponsored theses days?

Would like to see Tech and ULL get off the taxpayers titty. All these new facilities and neither are self sufficient. Like a person who drives to the grocery store in a brand new Cadillac and then pulls out frickin' food stamps to pay for the groceries.

Everyone bitching about all athletic programs not called LSU using state funds, please tell me how many in the country do not use some state funding.

Hell, even Alabama uses a subsidy. Go bitch to them as well. And by the way, if all athletic programs were forced to be completely self-funding, the Cajuns would be well positioned against other G5 schools. We don't max out the 6 percent that the UL System allows.

Now go ahead and "downvote" all you want, but those are facts.

They probably aren't bitching about the others because their taxes aren't paying for it.

Yeah, La Tech and the Cajuns are really beginning to push each other in a G5 arms race which is great for both schools because we both have a history of administration making empty promises. Both teams opening up a new facility is going to make sure neither athletic dept gets complacent.

If you're going to make playing major college football worth it, you have to go all out.

Football is business, where you must spend money to make money.

while i'm happy for you and admire your enthusiasm your assertion that USL is the Flagship University of Louisiana destroyed all other content of your post. it may upset you but your good friends in Baton Rouge house the Flagship and there is no question about that.

I think he is referring to the ULS, in which ULL is number three in pecking order behind LaTech and UNO academically. I mean I guess ULL is the flagship in Acadiana

And they shouldn't...it is a waste of taxpayer dollars. They would easily survive without the subsidy...better question would be, "how many schools don't need a state subsidy?"
