Not at all what I think. But jay fumbled the bag by not being open with the finances and media rights and it cost the tour and eventually his job.

Yeah not a fan. Enough of the sports I love are casting aside the current fans for more “casual fans” and it always makes the product worse.

What’s the downfall? You know many people that are able to watch 5+ hours of golf on thursdays and fridays?

I would consider myself way more than a casual fan. Kind of a die hard golf fan probably. But I would 100% be up for being able to watch more golfers play in a shorter time span. I’m not saying change it on the weekends because I do think it kills the drama a bit, but you don’t need/there is no drama on the first two rounds.

Cost him his job? You don’t get fired and then are allowed to stay on for 18 more months

They have been conducting the search since 2024. You don’t fire someone and keep them around for an additional 2 years, 18 months after actually finding a replacement

Anyone being honest and not being an assclown, or called being a mingo, would know this

They are literally keeping him on the policy board….You think you do that with someone you are firing or asking to leave?

Absolute prick. Forced rory to be the face of the tour and defend it against LIV then announces a merger without telling him or any other players.

And they pay him millions of dollars.

And didn’t cough up additional purse monies until a sizable chunk of his players bolted for an alternate league. So, either he was too lazy all those years to hustle for his players to maximize their earning potential; or, he was hiding that money from them. Those are the only two alternatives, neither of which are good from the players’ perspective.

At every turn, Phil was vindicated in his complaints against the Tour.

There is also the other option that an irrational actor entered the fray that is not bound by normal business requirements. Increasing purses to keep up was going to bankrupt the tour. So, they had to completely change their structure and give up some control to SSG.

So, you're admitting the money was out there for the players if Jay would have hustled?

There is drama in the first two rounds when it gets towards the back 9 of the second round and who is going to make the cut and who is going to miss it.

Besides, the first two rounds have groups go out on the front and back simultaneously in the morning and afternoon groups.

You know who watches the first two rounds? Diehards. You know who you will alienate with shotgun starts? Diehards. You'll piss them off and gain no measurable casual viewers. PGA would be stupid to NASCAR itself.

Nothing if you’re playing a casual round at your local course. But if you’re a professional, dress professionally (pants).
