Succession is a good comparison, but that meme is off
The new CEO is Jay(pgatour)/Tom
Mattison would be the Saudi leader/gojo
But the difference is PGA/Waystar has more board seats and not Gojo

I keep seeing people say it’s disgusting because of Saudi money and they completely forget the pga has been in bed with China for years. China might be worse than Saudi

LOL imagine trying to destroy people and ruin their lives for joining LIV just to merge with them basically a few weeks later

PGA Tour comes out looking awful in all this, BUT I'm sure it will be good for them and the game of golf moving forward.

the split was bad for the fans who just wanted to see the best players play at the best events
I'm hopeful this development means the sport goes back to what it was before LIV arrived

This is true. Tigers win at the masters changed golf forever.

Golf Channel is trying to shite all over Monahan. Oh no the PGA sold out to the Saudi's. How dare the PGA shite all over 911 families, especially after the PGA payed those 911 families to protest at LIV events.

You seem very confused. Is Jay in a better more powerful position now or before? Seems very clear he is more powerful now
Did Jay have to keep the Saudi money happy before or nah? Seems very clear the power dynamic has shifted and Jay is just answering to a different handler.

Politics makes strange bedfellows. Anyone that tries to make moral decisions based on political propaganda deserve what they get.

Jay, himself, is a winner. The tour players, are losers
And what was “I wrong about”. My entire premise through this entire ordeal was liv golf sucked, and it sucked some of the games best players were being splintered off the main tour.
I never gave a shite about the evil Saudi money. I even made the post I hope either liv kills the pga or the pga kills liv quickly and the best players are back together. I was never “a fan of the PGA tour”. It’s indifferent to me the fan who sponsors the tournaments I watch on tv. As a fan, how much the players get paid or who lays them doesn’t matter. People acting like they cared made no sense on both sides of that aisle.

I wonder how much of this was due to the PGA not being able to keep up with the larger purses for designated events. A couple articles mentioned they were dipping into reserves trying to placate the guys who stayed with the bigger purses.
The European Tour is probably very happy about this. They will probably be able to do more co-sanctioned events with higher purses to keep from being 100% a feeder tour for the PGA.
I also wonder what happens to Tiger and Rory's golf league now. Can't see that fitting into the schedule, especially since we will probably see a bunch more PGA players moving to LIV to try to get that off the ground. I doubt the PIF would totally get rid of their baby and there's no mention of Tiger/Rory's league in any articles I've read so far. LIV would definitely be better if it has the top 48 players, which it should be pretty close to with this deal.

Former United States President Donald Trump called on the world’s best golfers to break away from the PGA Tour to join the LIV Golf Invitation series this week. Trump is predicting an eventual merger between the rival golf leagues and telling loyal PGA Tour players to “take the money now”
Yeah because Trump has seen this a million times. A disruptor with deep pockets isn't simply going away. Better to just find out how to co-exist.

If the PGA players are losers in this, then so is golf. The PGA did a 180 and then some. They stood on the so-called moral high ground to further separate the 2 entities.
How do you take "blood money" back? How do you take "9-11" back?
Make no mistake about today's winner. LIV hit the lotto. The PGA and Jay Monahan's new propaganda machine have to completely take back why his newfound wealth isn't the same "blood money" he abhorred. He just stood on the stage with the Governor of PIF (LIV) and basically was holding his hand.
Sell that to the PGA players and fans and tell me Monahan is coming out of this a winner.

Well I mean they aren't wrong. No matter if you supported Liv, the PGA Tour, neither or both, Monahan looks like a shitbird in this after the stance they took.

He’s a loser in the sense that no one trusts him.
He’s a winner in the sense that he’s going to make more money than he’s ever seen before in his life.
Most people probably care more about the second thing.
