Why is that girl on twitter defending his actions? Even if he didn't know it was his first hit why would you toss the ball that far up the stands after an infield single? Maybe I don't watch enough pro baseball, but that seemed ridiculous.

He threw a ball into the stands in a situation where no one ever does that just because the Cardinals dugout was asking for it.

Whether or not he was aware it was the kid’s first hit, he’s a douche.

I think Alonso is too stupid to do it as a troll

Agreed. I don’t think it was malicious, he’s just a meatball.

Funny how no one leaves the dugout to confront him. They scared or something?

It’s Alonso so yea, douchbag.

I wonder though if he was trying to throw it to the family in the stands

Not surprised. Hell his coach helped cover up a murder

Is that what came up on him when LSU did the background check that made them back off?

bullshite. The guy has been playing baseball too long to be ignorant of the situation. He actually shook the baseball (gesture to take the ball out of play), then fired it twenty rows into the stands. That prick knew exactly what he was doing.

But why would he apologize like that? I think he is a big meat head dumbass and the cardinals started shouting for him to give them the ball, and he assumed they were messing with him because he is a dumb caveman so he launched it

This is what happened.

I guess we'll never know if he did it on purpose but the whole situation is hilarious imo and I'm glad (insert travel ball name) got the baseball in the end.

Here you go for all the drama queens.

Alonso throws rookie player's 1st hit into stands

quote:

"He apologized on first (base), and when he got to second later, he apologized as well," Winn said of Alonso. "Complete accident. I thought it was quite funny. Especially after we got the ball back, I thought it was a little more funny."

Alonso did nothing wrong. Whoever caught the ball gets a “reward” of some sort for being a good person and returning it. A Cardinals fan probably ended with it so how is that a bad outcome? Alonso knowingly or unknowingly doing it doesn’t matter. That ball was getting back to the Cardinals no matter what. This was just an unconventional way of getting to that outcome.

Disagree.

He fricked up, and he admitted it. I do not think it was intentional, but there is zero chance of knowing that.

He apologized profusely and the ball is with the the player, so it is just a funny, embarrassing thing now and everyone is happy.
