In a similar vein, apparently there is a 24 hour staffed desk in the Sydney, Australia to help people that meant to go to Austria.

They weren't. They were meeting DJ in the airport when she was coming home from Spain, and they met a kid at the next gate. They decided to walk on the plane to see the kid off, and they closed the doors while they were still on the plane. When the kid told them the plane was going to Auckland, they mistakenly heard "Oakland" and thought they'd be on the ground in 20 minutes.

Every decade or so somebody shows up in Birmingham AL but were trying to go to Birmingham UK. A bit of a culture shock. But I guess they're dumbasses anyhow.

My friend’s wife went into labor early he quickly booked a flight to Portland ME, but accidentally booked it for Portland, OR. He realized his mistake at DFW.
