Franklin can do alot better than VT. That should only be plan Z in case nobody else wants him.

Florida, unc, ucla, and several SEC jobs may open up soon

Franklin has 6 major bowls/playoffs in 12 seasons. In 2024, he finished #5.
Barring some incident, firing this guy midseason shows what a delusional, entitled cult Penn State football is.
Oh, and Norvel, at a program with similar resources, has 1 major bowl in 6 seasons and won 2 games in 2024.

Penn state is always lauded as some great football school, gifted high rankings to start the season and then collapse on schedule every single year. Why they get any credit for anything is a mystery

Disagree.

PSU has natty aspirations and willing to invest big money to get there. Its obvious now that they will never win the natty with Franklin and hes unable to win the big games. We have 12 years of evidence of that. Its absolutely time to move on...they cannot stick with Franklin with the money they plan to invest

LSU NEEDS TO REALIZE THIS IS HOW YOU HANDLE A SEVERELY UNDERPERFORMING 10 MILLION DOLLAR COACH!

Even Jo Pa only won like 2 titles and were they shared? 400+ wins and 40+ years and could only win 2 big ones. And haven’t for near or over 40 years now.

That's sort of a disingenuous argument. I think Joe Pa had 4 undefeated seasons where the final polls simply didn't rank Penn State #1. He also had a bunch of other 1-loss seasons where they were in the hunt.

The sport's way of crowning champions was just so different during Paterno's career, and Penn State was independent for most of it. The right coach could definitely win national championships there with the modern B1G and expanded CFP.

One play from the NCG last year.

His playoff wins were SMU and Boise. If we're being honest the biggest win of his career was that 2016 Ohio St game they only won because blocking a FG and returning it for a TD. That was a decade ago and that's still the only real big win he can hang his hat on. Since then it's been the same story, never winning the big games, only beating the teams he's supposed to.

Now he's losing games he's not supposed to on top of still not being able to win big games. This was the season that was supposed to finally be the one they took the next step and instead they're in the toilet, 0-3 in the Big Ten. I fully understand why they decided it's time for a change.
