Also have finished in the top 10 eight times.

its eh. more of a foundation builder for someone else to come in three or four years to take it over the top

Yeah I see him as the guy before the guy, a guy that will instill discipline, conditioning, defense to a young team and get them eventually into the postseason consistently, before they hire their Nick Nurse type to lead them to what they hope is the next level. He's 61 years old on a 4 year deal, so its not a forever move.

I thought he got kind of a raw deal in Miami because his last year they looked like the best team in the league but Wade and Shaq had injuries late in the season and they lost the conference championship in 7. It really came down to Pat Riley itching to get back on the sideline so Van Gundy was out.

Stan is super woke and won't fit the right leaning pels fans agenda.

At least I assume based on the LSU fan base that a pels fan leans way to right. I don't actually know any pels fans.

I dont get this thinking. We had already fired Alvin Gentry. Its an irrelevant factor and criteria.

Stan is enough to get you to the playoffs, but not good enough to keep Zion off the Lakers/Knicks literally the second he can force a trade.

Probably could've done better, definitely could've done worse.

I don't follow the NBA for shite anymore, but what this appears to me is that the Pelicans got the table scraps after the Clippers, Rockets, Bulls, Knicks, and 76ers filled their vacancies.

The Clippers, Rockets and to an extent the 76ers are the jobs where a coach can win immediately, so they got their top pick of coaches.

What’s Lebron’s take on Alvin Gentry being replaced by Stan Van Gundy?

Well, first of all, the Rockets haven't hired anyone.

Your opinion is not very true. They wanted Ty Lue which the Clippers got. Otherwise they weren't even looking in the direction of the guys the Bulls and Knicks hired.

Good points. I stand corrected.

So what are the Rockets going to do? It seems like every pro franchise in Houston is a clown show in its front office.

No one knows but a lot of people are speculating that Tillman will go cheap.

I’m not saying that Gentry was the benchmark for this hire. I’m just comparing how I feel about the hiring of our last two coaches.

What an uninspiring hire. Can the Pelicans just move to Seattle already?
