McAfee is a total blowhard. His kind of personality type always have a quick rise followed by a quick fall once people are annoyed by him.
I think he is mirroring other sports folks like Jim Rome and Colin Cowherd. His show is a nice change of pace from others on ESPN but it’s definitely not for everyone since he will ruffle some feathers.

Apparently Bill Simmons referred to Norby as Tessio from the Godfather. Lebatard also not a fan.

Gameday should have replaced Corso with Spurrier the moment Spurrier retired from South Carolina
Hopefully they replace him w/Saban the moment he retires from Bama.

well that surely won’t get him punished

The only way espn will ever change is if the people who work there do things like this.
And for that reason people like Pat are a benefit to sports fans who want espn to go back to sports and sports alone.

McAfee’s show, before ESPN, was a primarily white audience of football viewers.
Ehh I’m a black guy and have been watching McAfee’s show since the YouTube days.
I like the fact that he has the freedom to do anything he wants on his show..because it’s HIS show. Dude retired from the NFL and was at a crossroads and began this podcast with a group of guys. He grinded his arse off every day getting only a couple thousand views and now here he is a multi-millionaire..with those same guys. I can understand why people don’t like his style but you gotta respect the hustle

quote:I just find it hilarious the excuses people will make to not watch him. The "I prefer deep analysis" crowd is my favorite considering In the Trenches, Everything DB, and Coach P's Keys is more of a deep dive than you'll get anywhere on ESPN or TV in general and it's all done by ex-coaches and players.

Facts, the “analysis” from guys like Ryan Clark, Dan Orlovsky, Marcus Spears, Mina Kimes is basically, “look at this great play”

Gameday should have replaced Corso with Spurrier the moment Spurrier retired from South Carolina. That was about the only change they really needed to make, but instead they keep dragging Corso out there even though it is painfully cringeworthy to see him talk on TV at this point and they added an obnoxious wrestling douche in McAfee.
It was painfully obvious they wanted Les but all the harassment shite went down.

Or the nerds that never played a down spewing a bunch of analytics shite that ultimately doesn't mean a damn thing.
But no, ex players literally breaking down formations and concepts on multiple levels of both sides of the ball in real time on a weekly basis is too "fratboy".

Im a fan of Pat Mcafee's show and am surprised by the number of people in this thread that don't like him. Im assuming most of these people only watch him on gameday.
People are always complaining about the regular talking heads on ESPN, but complain when someone does something different.
I think people really just like to complain and are unwilling to watch things that are different from their usual stuff, even though they claim to hate the usual stuff.
Sports fans are disgruntled sheep.

WWE ruined McAfee. He's way too over the top since he's worked for them. I don't get the standing the entire show, shouting and ramblings

Watch, AAPL or AMZN is going to buy ESPN in 2024, I would not be surprised

Amazon and ESPN would make a whole lot of sense but what about the tie-in with ABC for Monday Night Football?

Espn will survive this
He won't
He won't

It's gotten to the point where I feel like the less someone likes Pat, the less informed they are about him.
