He’s a very polarizing personality. Some argue he made College Gameday better and others quit watching it altogether and switched to big noon kickoff on Fox.

He annoyed the hell out of me on GameDay - but I appreciate him calling out a notorious leaker. They’ll be scared to can him though. McAfee has a solid following and enough people are sick of ESPN’s shite.

Not a fan of his show. Didn't mind him on game day. I don't understand the hate against him. I respect him calling people out assuming that is the case.

Let them tear each other down. McAfee seems like the softest beta there's ever been, and this might have been the only interesting thing he's ever said.
But ESPN deserves whatever mess comes from this. Him having a meltdown from something internally going on at ESPN was predictable from the minute he signed his first contract at ESPN. He doesn't finish contracts or stay long at any place he's been. So I'm sure ESPN knew they would get a short-term social media bump that wouldn't last long. If not, they're idiots.
Hopefully, this means McAfee will be gone from college football coverage on ESPN on the day of the game, whether that's the pregame show or whatever dumbass megacast they keep trying to ram down our throats with him.

Always about him. Don't care for his style. Especially don't care for him making most of the college football discussions become about him in some way on GameDay.
I'm also too old for the fratboy vibe, and I'm not his target audience. But I like college football, and I'd prefer him being nowhere near its coverage.

They knew he was a loose cannon. He knew they censor things and people. He took the quick buck, they took the social media bump.
From there, both sides deserve what they get, although they really deserve each other.
They're trying to get him to quit to avoid the payout of the contract. He's trying to get fired to collect the payout of the contract.
