What the frick is your point? We still will have plenty of teams in it that wouldn't be in it orginally and it gives G5 teams a chance. Your anger should be directed at the lack of parity not the post season system

@ByPatForde 1 minago While it looks like the expanded playoff is coming to College Football, we still have hope for a new variance of Covid to cancel the season

Situations like this tend to be poetic. I fully expect the Sun Belt, Mountain West or Conference USA to surprise the AAC and make the first couple of playoffs.

Pretty simple

LSU, UGA, Florida, and a pretty much all other fanbases in that tier hung onto every season and game because our chance at the title was few and rare

Now? frick baw we will be playoff bound more times than not. I'll catch you in january son

I mean we are moving so close to it simply being minor leagues

It's already a minor league system.

College football got popular on pageantry, tradition, and the importance of the regular season

The "importance" of the regular season was NEVER the most important thing. For the longest time winning your conference was the end all be all. Bowls were an after thought.

This board needs to stop acting like only the top teams made bowls in the old days. That is simply not true.

This x100000....a system where 60+ teams make bowl games, including 5-7 teams, is a system where the regular season means absolutely NOTHING!!! Its amazing people dont understand this.

This is the small little nugget that is going to keep the "regular season" critical. Earning a top 6 seed will be crucial, because nobody wants to play on the road in Madison WI in December. This is going to be awesome!!!

And?
I just told you

It makes the "I have to schedule everything around this game because my teams title hopes depend on it" alot less of a deal

Mostly it’s going to be a bloodbath of fringe group of 5 and power 5 teams get mowed down by the 10-2 type SEC squads, followed by an even bigger bloodbath a week later in the quarterfinals as worn down sacrificial lambs meet the top 4, and then another the next week in the semis.

This still doesnt change that. Just because you make the playoff, doesnt mean you are guaranteed to win jack shite. Playoff games between SEC and B1G school are going to be fricking AMAZING at home sites!!!!

If you’re No. 1 Alabama, the good news is you get a bye. The bad news is you don’t get to host a home game (but 5-8 do) and your fans have to travel to four straight neutral sites, starting with the conference championship.

Might want to rethink that part.

Should kill most cupcake games for the big time programs. Administrations want fans in the seats, which has increasingly become a problem in the age of comfort and 4k television. Schools can now schedule big time games without the fear of missing out on the playoff.

This is mostly bullshite and you know it. A 10-2 Auburn isn't going into Wisconsin and mowing down anyone especially in the dead of winter

Right, but if you have a good team in the P5, you first do or die game feeling wont be until that playoff game

That may not bother you, but for some its bothersome

Those frickign neutral site playoff games are going to be empty arse stadiums for the most part

Not many people have the want, nor the monetary means to do 4 straight road games
