Gretzky with no two line pass rule would have made a further mockery of the books

Nuance that's lost in these discussions.

Doing it on a hat trick would be wild. And empty netter would also be crazy. Weird dynamics at play.
Want him to do it at home in Washington rather than in NY on Sunday.

I said in the conversation.
Orr changed the way the game was played. He was decades ahead of his time. Won the NHL scoring title, as a defenseman. His 1969-1970 season is the GOAT, 120 points, 33 goals and 87 assists from the blue line.
8 consecutive Hart Trophies, and 3 straight Norris.
And he has one of the best sports photos of all time
Huh

Almost 1 more goal per game were scored in Gretzkys era.
It’s harder to score now than it was then.

I didn't knock Orr. Serious argument for best defenseman all time. He's in a tier below Gretzky. Prety much everyone is if were going to be honest with ourselves.
Oh, we shook off that Bruins curse a few years ago in their barn...

Larry Robinson and Ray Bourque are not in the discussion? Paul Coffey had much better offensive years than Orr. Lidstrom may be the best ever if were going to nit pick "eras."
Just turning the tables on your logic.

Ore's issue is the injuries. He only played 657 games.
But he is the GOAT defenseman based on sustained peak.

I sure would have liked that to happen, and it was setup perfectly tonight.

Then we should start looking at #66 in Pittsburgh as the GOAT. Its either a total career impact or its not.
Its been fun watching all these players come into the league. I'm old enough to remember Gretzky's as well as Ovie's first games.
