We did it! I fell in love with those gaudy/beautiful rainbow outfits with the star and the H as a 9 year old in 1980. I spent many nights of my youth listening to Elston and Hamilton on the radio and dreamed of the day when the Astros would be winners. 1986 NLCS hurt. Then the disappointments in the Killer B era. Then making the WS in 2005 but being dominated. Then the dark ages of 100 loss seasons.
But we are number 1 and did it with class. Lots of legit good guys.
Congrats fellow DATers! Tis been a fun ride.
Now off to Cincinnati for the victory parade?

I can remember as a kid wondering why the Stros couldn't do what the A's, Dodgers, and Braves were doing....then as a young adult realizing why they couldn't do what the Yankees did. Then 2004 and 2005 happened and that solidified that they simply couldn't win the World Series.
