Fox is killing with putting their top game at noon. Will be interesting if other networks respond to that.

agreed. noon is widely regarded as the BS time slot, but viewership says otherwise

Its Ohio State and Michigan! They put viewers in their seats! This is not surprising they hit this mark by season end. People wanna see OSU and Bama lose!

This is Exhibit 793 for why OU and Texas are leaving the Big 12.

To put in perspective how bad the Big 12's ratings are: 6-5 Mizzou vs. 7-4 Arkansas drew a 1.65 rating on a Friday at 3pm. That would be good enough for the 6th highest rated game of any Big 12 team for the entire season. Excluding OU and Texas, it would be the second highest rated game.

And this right here is why I laugh at all my Big 12 buddies when they tell me that the Big 12 will be fine without OU and UT. There are no draws left in that conference. You can't have six flagship schools leave in 15 years and hope to compete on an even ground with the likes of the SEC or the Big Ten.

September noon games are brutal in the South.

If you're actually attending the game, it makes it challenging because of how early it is, but as a viewer at home, it's awesome. Wake up, make breakfast, run an errand or two, and then bam, 11am cst there is a great game on. I love the Big Noon setup.

I think 3:30 games are worse.

think about it, for the fan bases involved in the noon game it may suck.......but for us with later games, whether at home cooking out or at a tailgate, definitely awesome getting to watch good games during the day while waiting on your game.

eta: a November game in Michigan at noon looks like its 6pm anyway.

ESPN has put three of their Gameday games at noon this year, which is almost unheard of (ARK/UGA, OU/TEX, MSU/OSU). I'm assuming it is a direct response to Fox getting good ratings for their noon games.

I'm guessing it was 2 years and 18 days to be exact.

Yes, and any Saturday evening dinner/entertainment plans don't prevent you from watching.

I've been a bit surprised by the seemingly undebatable assumption that night games = higher ratings. I think that's been more of a self-fulfilling prophecy because those have been the bigger games, but they might have even bigger ratings in the early afternoon slot.

Some of the reason Fox is killing it is because of less competition in that slot.

I think when you get past the age of 30 you learn to love noon games. Kegs and eggs breakfast kind of deal, stop your day drinking before sundown, then wake up on Sunday without skipping a beat.

It was a great game to watch for sure and exposed the frick out of OSU and Ryan Day as an extremely soft team and culture.

Georgia would have shown much less mercy to them
