I think this is where having the “gm” position universities are starting to create is going to help. They can deal with all the NIL shite and let coaches coach.

Would be the best thing for the sport, unfortunately the Supreme Court has already said that player movement can’t be restricted.
Can we split the difference by letting the players move and practice, but not be eligible to play?

That was the rule before. There was nothing restricting practice time unless you were academically ineligible

Court was wrong. Maybe you can't restrict switching schools, but you can restrict playing sports.

Has that kid ever seen the inside of a weight room?

Explain your analysis of the ruling and why it was incorrect.

Thank you to Duck nation and all the coaches for supporting me.
Respect my decision.

The schools receiving these transfers would have to agree to hold the guy back from playing. What program is going to be the first out the gate to do that?

We'll never forget you, Jared.

According to Oregon 247, he wanted/expected to start day 1. Apparently he spent a few practices watching Dante Moore and realized he isn't jumping him before next year, so he's bolting to find a spot he can just walk right in and get the job

Even signing a kid doesn’t even matter anymore. Unreal.

And there are still posters on this board that treat recruiting like it was 10 years ago and get offended when 90% of others laugh off commits now.

I think the problem people have is that the point of that board is to discuss / get excited about recruits. Being the guy that just sits in the corner going” well acckktually commitments don’t mean anything “ in every commit thread just kind of makes you an a-hole.

I understand that most aspects of NIL are out of the hands of the NCAA and it's universities. However, there is no law or ruling that prevents them from reinstituting this rule, right?

Probably because they are about to pay Ewers 4 million to play next year.

I 100% agree. No team is safe from this. We will all be affected by this at some point or another! The Wild Wild West!

Damn Oregon won if that’s the case. Would be hard to win with a QB this dumb and delusional.

Sounds like someone didn't get the NIL deal they were promised.
..or someone tampered via back channels to the kid and offered more.
