"But what about!" This is a thread about Pedo State on a sports message board.

Nah. Bigger and more important issues in the world.

Also it's crazy how most people don't know about Todd Hodne. Basically Paterno's version of Aaron Hernandez but even worse.

At least they get to be perennially over-ranked every year. No end in site. They would still be preseason top 10 if the whole team transferred.

Thanks for clarifying you only care about pedophilia when it comes to a football team you don’t like. Or that you’re such a simpleton you can’t discuss multiple topics.
You are calling it “Pedo State” but only 1 guy molested kids, he was caught tired convicted and imprisoned. 3 officials at Penn State were also tried and convicted of covering up/not reporting the abuse, Paterno may also have faced charges but he died 3-4 months after the scandal broke. In other words Justice ultimately prevailed
This was all 14 years ago now. I make the comparison to the Catholic Church because both involved sexual abuse of children people continue to say the Penn St football should have been destroyed, because child sexual abuse is so bad. Destroying Penn St football does not help Sandusky’s victims or prevent future abuse it only serves self righteous blood lust.

will never feel bad for that program after Sandusky
Other than the name on the jersey who is still around from those times?

You’re really comparing a football program to the Catholic Church?. Holy “what aboutisms” Jessica.
Is the inference here that the catholic church somehow deserves a pass?

Given your stance on Penn St shouldn’t the Catholic Church be banished from existence?
The Catholic Church should be banned from ever winning a football national championship.

Meh when you sacrifice the safety of kids to not interrupt your football program, you deserve way more than what they got.
The people that covered it up went to jail except for Paterno who died. What does destroying the football program accomplish? I think part of the reason people cover stuff like that up is no matter what people want to punish the program. Punish the guilty i was fine with stripping Paterno of wins.

The people involved in covering it up or turning a blind eye to it being gone is kind of irrelevant
How is punishing and or removing those responsible “irrelevant”?

Well Penn State hired James Franklin so is that punishment enough?

I DGAF about Pedo St. We are in the worst stretch of football ever at Auburn. Forgive me if I don’t have empathy for poor old Penn St.
Weren’t they in the playoff last year? Yeah, screw them and OP
Empathy, that’s some weak arse leftist bleeding heart bullshite is what that is.

Never had the kind of respect JoePa seemed to get from most of the world before everyone found out about Sandusky. Always had suspicions about his goofy looking arse. In my mind my suspicions were warranted after the truth about Sandusky came out. I was not wrong for disliking a man because he was so goofy looking. His goofiness was probably what led to covering for his boy. Michigan State's situation with the gymnastics guys has me wondering about the whole Big10. If it stinks, it might be sh*t.

Some where in rural Pennsylvania is a salt of the earth good catholic guy who loves nothing more than Penn state football and the boyscouts.
I have empathy for that guy.

Cardinal Law from the Boston resigned in disgrace after proof he had covered up the sexual abuse of hundreds of kids, if not thousands. He moved to Rome and was appointed archbishop of one of the major Catholic churches in Rome, by the Pope himself (John Paul). This was in 2004, seven years before the PSU scandal. I'm not making it, cause the CC has done a lot of good over the years, but there's a pretty good argument it absolutely should be banned, as well as several other Abrahamic religions/religious sects, i.e. see the thread in the OT about the Oklahoma church founder. Might not want to bring up the CC in a debate about child molestation.

Who told Sandusky that this was the perfect time for him to re-enter the spotlight with an appeal? Sandusky has new evidence
He looks healthy for a man his age.

filed a new appeal last week alleging new evidence of prosecutorial misconduct.

JoePa knew. Everyone knew. There's a reason Sandusky won awards as a coordinator but never got a head coaching job.
