South Carolina lost to Bama. Both teams have the same record, there is no argument for them being over Bama.
That final spot for the SEC is between Ole Miss and Bama. That's it.

Not if your conference is fricking trash. This stupid take is why, along with "players deserve money", is why college football will die. Watch. The sport is already a shadow of what it was and will only get worse. You frickers where worked by ESPN propaganda. What made college football special is dead and people will check out because of it.

Anyone that thinks better team doesn't change on a day to day basis doesn't understand football. Which is why playoffs should be based off record. I think lsu would beat Miami or smu 6/10 times. So we are a better team. But on the Saturdays that mattered this year, they showed up. We didn't. Hats off to them.

Listen I hate the 12 team playoff.
Hell I hated the 4 team.
I liked the BCS and said that should have stayed.
With that said if you think there are going to be LESS eyeballs now than say 2018 then you are crazy.
Take for instance.
Oregon is number 1 and most likely national champion.
Penn state is heavily involved.
Hell Indiana is in it.
Miami.
Michigan won it last year.
The sport as a whole has way more people still tuned in than repeating the SEC season/championship with the only difference of “it counts for real real this time”

That's all I heard was how Bama couldn't jump Texas because they lost the game on the field, which I absolutely agree with. Both have the same records, sos is almost identical, Bama has the better wins, and also owns H2H.

USC lost @ Bama by 2 points. Home field is worth 3.
Outside of their head to head, USC has two losses, Bama has 3.
Bama lost to two 6-6 teams, losing by 21 points to one of them last week. Carolina’s worst loss was to an 8 win team. Carolina just won @ #12 and are on a 6 game win streak.
You can make an argument for Bama over Carolina, but to me it’s an easy decision.

I strongly argued for Bama over Texas last year. Head to head obviously matters, but it’s just one factor. You don’t ignore all the other data if you want to fairly and accurately assess the strength of the complete resume.
