Toronto crowning themselves runner up

Most important series of his career thus far, and he did what again? Get the McDick out your mouth

I recently dropped $500 on an autographed Olli Jokinen jersey so I'll be holding off on championship merchandise this time.

They're letting all the guys who weren't on the team last year hold the cup first

I clearly said he was quiet this series. But he was a monster the 3 rounds before.

I’m happy for Brad Marchand. One of those athletes you hate until he’s on your team making big time plays. I developed a respect and liking of him after this year.

He was such a great fit for the Panthers. One of the best trades I’ve seen in sports.

He was the most impactful trade deadline acquisition I can remember in a long time. He could have easily won Conn Smythe.

So impressed by this team. The culture there is ridiculous. Giving the Cup to the first time winners first, healthy scratches, hey, you get the Cup first. That says a lot about this group. Selfless. Team first. Very impressed.
Something you don't see in other professional sports.

The culture makes me think Bennett signs. This is a really good modern dynasty. So many quality guys.
Edmonton has some questions to answer in the off-season.

Hell of a season fellas.
Those first few games were some of the best hockey I have seen in a while. Panthers depth + Bob was too hard to overcome.
If any of you baws want to grab a drink this football season down here, I live in Sunrise

If Floirda keeps their team together, they will conitnue to beat the Oilers, Dallas,Toronto, etc series after series.
You have to be able to push them around and skate with them. St.Louis gets them a #2 center, and a Dman or 2, and they would be a perfect match up. They are still rebuilding, and took #1 seed to game 7, and pissed it away. They unlike all these other teams Florida has played, have a Goalie.
Berube knows he has to get tougher in Toronto, or this will continue.

I don't think Edmonton gets this close again
They will have McDavid and Bouchard's new contracts to deal with, Draisaitl's bigger cap hit, even with Nurse cap hit going away at some point.
They got farther than they probably should have the last two seasons on pure will power and winning some series they probably shouldn't have.
The West is unbelievably strong and doesn't seem to be getting any weaker.
Florida could be back again - it almost doesn't even matter what happens with Bennett, Ekblad, and Marchand this summer. At least one (maybe all?) will resign and they have most of their bigs locked up long term. The East, especially the Metro, just isn't very strong.

Game 1 & 2 were magic. 3-6 were just Florida doing whatever they wanted and the Oilers shuffling goalies hoping to change things up. Florida knew they could be super aggressive with Russian Bob manning the pipes. Oilers never figured out/couldn't figure out that Florida was pinning their ears back and coming after whatever schlub the Oilers had trying to stop shots. Game 5 broke the Oilers. If they don't fix the Goalie issue, ownership doesn't want to win. Pure and simple.
The reason the Panthers are so good, is their ownership wants to win. They make the best moves, and hire the best people, and make trades that actually help the team. They deserve back to back cups. If no one can figure out the formula, then no one else deserves to hoist the cup. fricking Oilers.

The leadership culture that the Cats have is insane. Everyone, to a man, knows their role, and how to succeed in it. Plus, Paul Maurice is pushing all the right buttons, all the time.
I thought jt was insane to fire Andrew Brunette, fresh off a President's Trophy, to hire Maurice's washed up arse. All credit to Zito. He's the best GM in hockey, AINEC

shite. There were at least 50 people at Elbo Room at 5 AM when I drove into work.
I love that place.

Congrats to The Panthers.
They are such a well-built team. I believe we are seeing the beginnings of a dynasty

Can we add McDavid to the choker list next to Matthews
Stop.
McDavid shows up in the playoffs, has a Conn Smythe to his credit. He can't help that his goalie sucks and that the defense corps is average at best.
