I don’t have definite word either way and they don’t want info out, so out of respect for the Cechinni’s I wouldn’t say even if I knew definite answer which I don’t.

I do know it’s going to be a great matchup either way and the Cechinni’s consider Jake brown to be one of the best high school pitchers they have ever seen, maybe best ever. That should tell you how highly they think of JB.

.

We'll be there watching. I've watched Jake pitch four times to date. I'm sure Barbes game plan will be to get his pitch count up. It will be a great contest for sure.

They switched times of select and non select d1 games on Thurs
Select games at 2
Non select at 5

It’s time for select to have their own tourney site
Sulphur is a horrible setup
It was much better in Hammond last year for select teams

SPAR is just a community park but the LHSAA insists on hosting both semis and finals of all divisions at the same spot.

Last April, the select schools had voted to put in a proposal that would have made both the semis and finals 2 out of 3 with semis at the site of the high seed and finals at a neutral site. That got all tossed away with the change in the definition of select over the summer.

The LHSAA really needs to go to a 2/3 semis and finals though.

Not only that, the final date for Mississippi baseball is June 2 and in Texas I think it’s June 10. It’s May 13 in LA

Yeah I’m pretty sure him and another guy combined for a no-no against Neville in game 2

This is correct. Victorian pitched in Game 2 against Neville. Started and went 2 2/3. He was always expected back at some point in the playoffs.

The LHSAA wants to do this(the people that work at old Hammond hwy and many coaches ) but the principals don’t want to and they are who votes.

yea i knew he was due back, i didnt go to the neville series and havent been around much so didnt know he pitched, good to know he did, i knew they planned to eitehr then or against sulphur but didnt want to say anything.

as far as how he got hit...standing in front of the dugout during warm ups at 2nd sulphur game. over throw hit him while he was talking to coaches is what i was told.

Yea DeQuincy has a kid throwing no-no's in the playoffs and has dropped 10 bombs. I'm not sure that first one against Welsh Thursday didn't go 450ft!! If he shows up with that look in his eye and a hit of booger sugar for State, they may send Logansport home in 4-5 innings. Teams even tried just putting him on base a couple times, hell he steals around and scores on everyone!

MS is a week later than normal this year because the M Braves have a home stand the week they normally host the state championship series. So there is like 8 or 9 days between the semis and State championship series.
