I agree with that.
I would classify someone as a square if they just look at a line and say 'I like this side', thats who I will bet... while at the same time, not looking for value

I just think this line should be -28. You have to play Oregon in this spot. It will be a large bet of mine. Think that and duke small will be my only plays. If those go well then there will be a small play for action on Mich or ND.

Really makes no sense that fricking Virginia has the number at 22.
In my experience, Vegas will give you 3-4 gifts a season. Those games where the spread just seems too good to be true. I think people get scared when it seems too good to be true probably because in the NFL it may actually be too good to be true. But in CFB, I think those are the ones you jump on.
The one that stands out for me last season was Clemson at dogtrash Wake Forest and the spread was something like Clemson-9.5. I tossed down like 7 bills on that game. So free.

Does Duke have a QB? I looked at their box score from last week and it wasn't pretty.

I've been lurking on betting threads for a while and decided to sign up here. Baltimore really hurt me tonight along with ECU fumbling in the red zone and not getting to 38 points. I'll make it up week 2 Saturday tho as week 2 looks as easy as week 1.

I took ECU -12.5 1st half and -4.5 3rd quarter. My only plays tonight.

Wake Forest +3 I have no idea which way this could go so I'm staying away.
Cincy -7.5 LOVE THIS PLAY. Have this by itself and in a parlay
Utah State -9.5 I like it. Didn't bet it but like it
Duke -4 LOVE. Same as Cinci for me.
Toledo +17 Big fan of personally
Ball State -7.5 no idea
Notre Dame +3.5 I'm on the other side here. I feel like Michigan gonna get all up on that arse

Ok so guys I need some advice on a strategy.
My idea is this. Know that I normally play smaller amounts with higher quantity in plays.
Find about 5 games that I think are good bets.
Stem all my plays off of them. Bet each of those individually. Then bet 3 2 game parlays. Then 2 or 3 3 game parlays. Then 1 four and 1 five.
For example I went 6-0 last week in my picks. If I would have done that last week I would have made bank. I understand that building everything off of the same games can be dumb. But if hit right they can support one another.
Thoughts?

my thoughts are key into your big plays. place big bets on those single games and then tie them into parlay if you wish. don't do a three team parlay in one week unless you feel strong about it. parlay's aren'tgood, but if you do them right you are golden.
try doing parlays with open spots. that way you don't have to be right in one give week. you get to pick your best bet each week to fill those spots

The one that jumps out to me from last year was West Virginia over Texas Tech. Think it was around a touchdown favorite for WV, and everyone on this board was on it, didn't work out so well.

I only had a small lick on the ECU game but still hated the loss :/ They completely dominated both sides of the football all night. Especially on defense, which was good to see from them for a change. McNeill has added some balance to the raid. Theyll be giving some decent teams fits soon enough

I teased ECU down to 14 along with a couple of Saturday games so I got that. I lost on ECU because I hammered an in game ECU total of 33.5 and they fumbled inside the 10 at the end of the 3rd. And they were stuck on 31 the entire 4th. Ah well that's the way things go.
I'll probably make a small play on Wake Forest tonight.

If you just bet them individually and go 6-0, you will still do well. Maybe not "make bank", but still damn good. But that was last week, and thats pretty uncommon. If you consider most weeks you will go 4-2, 3-3, or 2-4, this strategy of yours will be a big time loser with all of those parlays in there.

This is your best bet (no pun intended).
I'm not averse to doing some 2-3 team ML parlays with half a unit or less for entertainment value, but if you're doing a few per week, it can get costly and in the long run, you're not likely to win them.
Treat betting like the stock market. Find over-inflated lines and get on other side, and find lines they others aren't seeing value in. Spread your risk around.

Yep, just bet them individually. Throwin in all those parlays is pretty much gonna be just paying a LOT of juice on ur losses to tbe point where u would have to pick >70% winners to break even
