Jeter I can 100% understand not giving him 100% because was never the best SS in baseball during his time as ARod, Nomar, Tejada were all better players.

Yet here we are with people turning in ballots with only a vote for a guy that was never the best player in the league, let alone at his own position.

So is Walker just getting left out because of Coors Field?

Walker is likely in judging by the votes that have been made public.

Walker has a higher WAR than Jeter does in like 800 less games.

Great. Thought for a while Walker was going to get screwed over.

There are a LOT of players that should have been 100% before Mariano.

Hopefully now that it's happened voters won't be such shitdicks about it.

Although it doesn't appear that will be the case.

Agreed.

In a sport where it's almost impossible to definitively say who's the "best of all time" at any position, Rivera is unequivocally the best closer of all time, period. His 100% is completely understandable. He's essentially the best non-starter of all time.

I not only understand the arguments for why Jeter shouldn't be unanimous, I actually support it, and I say that as a Yankee fan. The reasons above are good enough.

I still laugh when I think of them moving Arod to third just to appease Jeter. For a large portion of Jeters career, he was average at best in the field.

99 Rockies went 72-90 that year.
Back then was much more focused on team record when dealing with an MVP than it is today.

They already knew A Rod was getting bigger so was gonna be slower.

Fat Arod would still have been a better defender.

I follow the Rockies and watching Larry Walker, i viewed him as a hall of famer. Todd Helton after 2004, i didn't. Todd's last 9 years were ordinary.

He should be in. But I’m not going to shed a tear for him. He knew he was risking his HOF chances when he started PED’s and chose to do it anyway.
