I loved Dan Bylsma when he played for the Kings, but I wasn't impressed with his coaching abilities either for Team USA in the Olympics, or in the Pens playoff run.
Best of luck to him though.

Bylsma can't handle star players, see Team USA and Crosby/Malkin. Ovechkin would chew him up and spit him out faster than he did Oates, would be a horrible hire and won't happen.

I think he is a very good practice coach, he just doesn't react well to what other teams are doing IMO. They over came a lot of injuries this yr and Orpik being out of playoffs hurt more than some here think but he just doesn't move the pieces around. His answer to anything is double shift Crosby and Malkin.

Was that you? Yup. It was. When did you do that? April 3rd. He was great a month ago, now he stinks? And when has Ovie ever not done whatever his coach has asked of him without complaint? He took less minutes and played more defense for Hunter? He played with Jay Beagle for Oates and changed position. He's never gone to the media to complain about the coach, nor has there ever been any leaks about a rift between him and his coach. Hell, Ovie complained less about the russian coaches than Malkin. If anything, Ovie has always taken the attitude that the coach makes the rules and he'll play by them.

Regular season stats may be fine and dandy for an organization that can do no better like your Capitals but it doesn't mean shite in Pittsburgh where you're favored to win the Cup yearly and can't even get to the Finals for 5 straight years or even out of the 2nd round 4 of those 5 years, that gets you fired. Washington you'd probably get a raise. I feel you.

Either/or. Point is with either one, they failed, and that falls on the coach. Along with the long list of other failures pointed out across Pittsburgh media the last few days.
