Good lord. Ducks didn't go quietly. Bedlam in front of the net as time expired.

Onward to game 7!

Well. I'd have preferred closing it out tonight, but I can't be upset about having game 7 at home being down 0-2 at one point.

You can't be a Bruins fan and wear a Whalers jersey. If you are a former Whalers fan it would be like Arnold Jackson wearing a gooch jersey.

Hopefully it is a #27 Doug Houda jersey: he was the fastest backwards skater in the NHL after the gloves were dropped.

Pulling for the Rags the rest of the way

Best goal horn and music in the NHL

I can only imagine how expensive tickets for the games at MSG would already be. But with them playing the HABS the market just sky rocketed b/c their fans will pay what ever.

Think Lucic will get fined for his unsportsmanlike behavior after game 7? He is such a bitch

I'm going to fricking kill you next year

I hate fining more than anyone else but this guy deserves it more than squirting a water bottle, or tweeting OMG. Plus the press conference afterwards.

Sore losing pussy like all the Goonins. Saved my postseason by having them also get eliminated.

No way is babs leaving detroit for Pittsburgh.

He would either go to canada, go back out to California, or coach michigan before he went there.

All decisions re: those departing are made. Pens won't release until after players' last media availability today. Maybe not til tomorrow.

Tough thing for Boston: They likely exceeded cap due to Iginla bonuses and will lose that space next year. Wanted this to be their year.

Again with you girls wanting fines and suspensions for WORDS. Not anything physical, but words. Grow a set and quit trying to NFLize the league.

The glorius Puck Daddy 2013-2014 Penguins Eulogy

A couple of highlights:

quote:

Despite the litany of injuries to the Penguins’ blue line, the Pens played well in the curiously-named Metropolitan Division. But seriously, we can’t all play the Devils, Capitals, and Hurricanes a combined 15 times a season. Sprinkle in a 5-0 record vs the Blue Jackets mixed with three tune ups against the Sabres and Penguins fans can’t stop talking about the awesomeness of their regular season. Of course they forget that the majority of the games the Penguins played in October and November were against teams that didn’t make the playoffs. Pittsburgh, known throughout the sports world as “Entitlement Town,” couldn’t stop basking in their Regular Season Greatness. The Cup was a sure thing by Christmas time. But why let the party stop there?

quote:

Perhaps feeling threatened by the self-appointed 5th Line, Penguins fans were quick to begin mocking the Blue Jackets. Most notably, they began making fun of the Blue Jacket’s attendance numbers for this season. The irony being that there was no mention at all of the Blue Jackets out-drawing the Penguins in attendance from 2000 to 2007. Perhaps 2004 is one of those suppressed memories too. You know, when the Penguin’s average attendance was slightly over 11,000 per game - good for dead last in the NHL. Re-runs of Voltron drew higher numbers than a Penguins home game in 2004.

quote:

Thus, the Kubler-Ross stages of grieving were hilariously exhibited after the Penguins were unceremoniously bounced from the playoffs by the New York Rangers.

Denial – The Refs were horrible, Crosby’s hurt, Fleury felt bad for Marty St Louis, and Neal forgot to take his Tuesday pills.

Anger – Fire Bylsma. Deadspin sucks.

Bargaining – Fire Bylsma, but Keep Shero, and set up a ‘Tortorella’ proof perimeter around Pittsburgh.

Depression – Half of the team is Free Agents. Anyone who is under contract has a no-movement clause. What happens if we fire Shero? Oh… Oh no. We’re in this mess for a while, aren’t we?

Acceptance – We won Back-to-Back Cups in 91-92 and Lemieux’s deferred salary from 1996 doesn’t count against the cap.

quote:

We laugh that despite all the Yinzer belligerence, Evgeni Malkin is now eligible to play in the IIHF Worlds with Alex Ovechkin.

Pretty decent, but I've read better ones.

Letang broke his hand in game 7, so maybe a good thing we did lose that D couldn't afford to lose him Montreal woulda swept probably.

Beau Bennett having surgery on his wrist, never was close to 100%

Pascal Dupuis doing great in his rehab from the torn ACL, all 3 will be good to go this fall.

Bylsma has been fired, not expected to be announced until tomorrow at the earliest, no leak yet on Shero but sounds like he is also gone.
