I should have clarified “the committee”.
Before the committee existed and it was just rankings - the most recent team to lose would always be ranked lower

I don't think it's so terrible. I do think Notre Dame is one of the 12 best teams in the country.

Pitt will be a tough one in a week or two. Let’s see how it plays out before we all freak out

They don’t belong but it shouldn’t be shocking. They always get a pass. Like I said after they lost their first two. The rest of their season was cake and they’d get in at 10-2

Tennessee is giving up 31ppg on defense. They'd lose to a lot of teams.

The problem that the committee has set up for ND is what happens if they and Miami win out, and aTm loses 2 down the stretch (Mizzou/Texas).

Miami doesn't play another ranked team, so they won't have a chance to jump ND again, and aTm would certainly drop out of the top 10 with 2 losses.

So ND would be ranked ahead of two teams that beat them, while they would also finish the season with only a single ranked win (if USC can beat Oregon).

They know they will get in with two losses
Schedule two tough teams and the rest cupcakes
They don’t need a conf or conf champ game

Go look at their 2026 schedule
It’s even worse

Would they…? And who they hell have they beaten? Mississippi State in OT? Arkansas, at home, by 3 (while Notre Dame went to Fayetteville and won by 43). I’d argue ND has more impressive
wins and losses than Tennessee …

That’s great. Doesn’t matter if you can’t prove it, which they haven’t.

ND has a shite bowl record over the last 30 years because they are almost always slotted higher than they deserve to be.

Pride will go 15 pages pulling up obscure stats to prove his point.

"ND's 2nd down offense with less than 5 yards to go is 3rd in the nation"

"The Irish OL's pass protection win rate on 1st down is tied for 4th among FCS teams"

Probably not, and they way they have been playing they shouldn't based off of winning a game 2 months ago and falling apart since.

aTm would certainly drop out of the top 10 with 2 losses.

Impossible to say. If they lose to USCe and Samford sure. If they lose to Mizzou and Texas close, then they probably stay in the top 10. If they lose to USCe and Mizzou probably out, but USCe and Texas is a close one. Probably irrelevant at that point because Texas and TAMU would be in over ND.

If Pitt beats GT and Miami then they will be in the ACC title game against probably UVA. A win over the potential top 12 ACC champion, a top 17ish USC if they win out, and the AAC champion in Navy if they win out is a better resume than any non-SEC school in consideration.

Jamal doesn't watch Notre Dame, nor saw them lose (controversially) to #3 by 1 point on the last play. So take it with a grain of salt.

By his logic, why is Bama #4? They got blown out by an unranked ACC cellar-dweller. Ain't nobody behind ND in the rankings that is getting "left out" and a few teams above ND that would not be favored over them.

Watch the games. You're pissing up the wrong tree this year with the lazy, usual, Notre Dame is a fraud trope.

How'd that infantile whining turn out last year?

They should have probably beaten Aggie and lost a close one at Miami. They’re a legit team. Their schedule is basically a Big 10 schedule.
