We don't get to dictate Russian law. We can say that it's harsh or wrong or whatever we want, but that's their legal doctrine. I guess you could advocate we go to war with them to overthrow their government and set forth new law, but outside of that, their land, their rules.
Part of my post was what I think she deserves.
You and I also don't know the situation. Under 6 grams in Russia doesn't even get you imprisoned. most small amounts (lets be honest, she wasn't trafficking large amounts, it was a pen with oils) end with bribes and non regulated punishment. Not over four months in prison. Like a say, the US government is saying that she is wrongly imprisoned. But for some reason Tigerdroppings thinks it's fair that she is locked up and deserving. just like the idiot above who is saying she is an addict. That's just bullshite. They are not detaining/imprisoning her like they would a typical citizen. If it comes out that she had a huge amount of vape oil, then I will eat crow 100x over.

Curious as to how long she's been playing ball in Russia, i.e. is this the first & only time she broke the law, just the first time she got caught?

I guess her privilege got checked

Why was she in Russia. Isn’t she in the WNBA?

Russian oligarchs like to use womens basketball players at toys in their betting circles
They pay far more than the WNBA for them to play in Russia

He'll have plenty of time in prison to take a knee for all the US suppression.

Should you be allowed to check on firearms from the US and fly to any country you want to?
Why and why not?
Liberals seem to freeze the frick up.
Its legal here.

Well she's a "STAR" expecting that star treatment.
Look she is an idiot and bad things normally follow idiots.

She's in Russia because she beat her girlfriend up

With all the pearl-clutching about PGA golfers taking "blood money" from the Saudis by joining the LIV tour, how come none of our paragons of conscience in the press ever questioned why Griner would stoop to accepting evil Russian oligarch dollars?

Man, that is fricked up.
Why? I have been to Singapore and loved how clean and safe it was with a lot of entertainment dining and bars. I am fine with their drug laws which are, as you probably know, way more strict.

Y’all are fricking werid on this thing with this whole “she deserves what she gets” angle.

When someone isn't happy with petty issues in our country, I'm thinking if you got a problem, try another country.
Seems he's getting his wakeup call.

Just think. If Trump was President she would have been out months ago. She still wouldn’t have voted for him, but she’d be out.

I have sympathy for her being a political prisoner
Is she really thou? I get that the Russians are using her and taking advantage of the situation but she created this situation. Her and her wife and US officials say well she is using the oil for medical reasons. That is all fine and good but she is in Russia and it is illegal there and she knew it. Tough titty, do the crime do the time.

99% of Russian criminal cases end in a conviction, and that's without the political factors in her case. "It's a fantasy for average Russians. It's a double fantasy for someone in this sort of political case," Pomeranz says.
Good lord.
