I think Oregon does...not because of the views but because they offer everything.

It's like working at Google. They have spas, high-class food, pools, serenity lounges, jacuzzis, etc. apart from all the weight room stuff and practice field.

Yeah most rich P5 programs have that stuff at this point

Is this a real life post? Northwestern was 10-3 last season with a bowl win. Pat Fitzgerald has consistently turned Northwestern into an 8-10 win program. Sure there will be some difficult years in there because of some of the academic hurdles, but this new facility is only going to help them with recruiting.

I've been in it. It's pretty spectacular.

I was able to tour the facility recently, too. It's incredible.

Outdoor practice facility, of course, has the skyline views, but many of the amenities from inside also look straight at the skyline.

At the least, it looks like he's gotten over the hump of alternating 3-5 and 5-3 conference seasons.

I wouldn't be so sure. This shite is gonna blow some recruits away. I'd sure as shite love to practice there.

Pretty incredible. NU has an enormous endowment...so they can build something like this, and nobody bats an eye...

Well, it's an arms race and they may as well take advantage of that beautiful real estate. I thought paying for sports stuff with endowments is a no-no, but I'm guessing with a private school it doesn't matter? Either way, if a rich donor wants to pay for a building, this stuff is just going to get more and more ridiculous. That's why I don't scream for players to get paid when coaches salaries increase. Sure, there is a ton of TV and ticket revenue sloshing around, but I'm guessing that money goes to send women's lacrosse across the country on a Tuesday night and the facilities/salaries are paid for with donations.

You know Northwestern is gonna win a game on a last second throw and give it some cute "Lake Michigan corner route" name.

I worked there. Programming. Great to sit on a little knoll with views of lake and coeds while writing code. .

They have a tunnel connecting the building my office was in to the dorms. Zero out? Just walk to girls dorm cafeteria. Life is good.

NU probably should have built a new arena on the main campus, tore down Welsh-Ryan and built Ryan Fieldhouse next to the Ryan Field.

The basketball program has a ton of potential and an on-campus arena that is the basketball version of Husky Stadium would have been the golden ticket.

Sweet view. I didn’t realize their campus was that close to the lake.

Campus is basically one long narrow strip of land right on the lake.

The view looks surreal. Crazy just thinking about the juxtaposition of something seemingly so tranquil housing a bunch of dudes hitting each other.

So what are the chances that Harbaugh sends a couple of support staffers stand outside watch/flim their practices this fall?
