I’m fed up with it too. We’re all waiting on the 12-team deal. Beyond that, the rest of em are over with as far as I’m concerned. Bigtime players don’t care anymore, why should we?

Not all at least. It was good to see the GA and Mizzou players step up and do the right thing.

If a Coach can leave then a player can opt out, I've never seen a coach tear his ACL or have a Concussion.
It's easy to criticize on your recliner

You are right. But I’m afraid it’ll get worse every year until it dies.

A player can quit and many are. Doesn’t make it the right thing to do.

You're entitled also for expecting people to make sacrifices for your entertainment

You’re dense to think it’s about me. It’s about societal change, self centered, selfishness that impacts the ones that helped them get there.

With the 12 team playoff the other bowls should only be for returning players. Basically a preseason game for the following year. It would be better than this.
There is a character component. Alabama had 2 first rounders last year that didn’t opt out.

This has been the prevailing thought from old timers about the younger generation since people started crawling out of the river. It’s not new

I wasn't responding to you

But nothing is list with someone like Daniels not playing in a bowl game. Would I like to see him one more time? Absolutely. But I understand if he wants to start the draft process early. I don't like it but I'm not going to pretend he is a loser or quitter. He is making a decision that he thinks is best for his post collegiate career. You would do the same. But you stand there in judgement of people making decisions you never had to make.

People that post things like you don’t possess either of these virtues. Keep preaching though.

Seems like you have forgotten the entire point of a bowl game. It is a reward to players based on their hard work throughout the season.

How is it a reward if they suffer a career ending injury during a game that is supposed to be a celebration. Bowl games make sense to send off players who are playing their last game or players playing for a championship. Not so much for players that are so close to reaching their goal of making it to the NFL to have a shot to blow it.

90% of players still participate. U only notice the opt outs more because the big bowl games are full of nfl talent.

Genuinely curious—

if a player goes into the draft after their Junior Year are they also a “quitter?”

Hey dummy, why are those kids on scholarship? Who’s forcing them to accept those scholarships? They’re getting a FREE ride and everything else under the sun just for showing up. Some of those bums have their work done FOR them and they STILL can’t get their degrees! those entitled turds!

This only makes sense if you ignore the reason they are offered scholarships.

It's because the schools want them to come because it benefits the school if they come play there than a "scholarship' costs them

What exactly did the program get? To say they won an exhibition game? Bowl games are basically NFL pre season games at this point just after the season.

All college football games except the literal championship games are "exhibition games" by this dumbass standard. Bowl games have always been this way. You people have lost your minds.

Play in ReliaQuest Bowl: contract offering generational wealth not guaranteed

Don’t play in ReliaQuest Bowl: contract offering generational wealth guaranteed

It’s not his fault that this business decision is a no brainer.

Let’s pretend for a minute that it’s your son out there who is going to be a top 2 round draft pick and will make more money than most people make in a lifetime very soon. Then let’s say you were watching the Texas A&M game where the QB breaks his arm on literally the first offensive snap. Now, your son plays for a college team who is not in the NC hunt and only has a bowl game with very little bearing on the future left.

You’re telling me you would tell your kid to play, overlook the real risk to THEIR future. Not yours, theirs. You’re full of fricking shite.
